Hey there.

Does anyone know if it's possible to get a free scalp exam in Chicago? Anywhere at all?

If nothing is free, can someone point me toward a high-quality dermatology
clinic? And what’s the ballpark figure for an exam like that...?

Anyone else dealt with this lately?

I've noticed more hair coming out in the shower than usual recently, and honestly,
it’s got me a bit worried...

I know I’ve seen those little signs popping up in pharmacies lately, advertising free skin checks with those tiny micro-cameras.
I think they have them at that CVS near the McDonald's downtown, or maybe even that big Walgreens over by the main plaza.
Honestly, if you just wander into a few of the nicer drugstores, you'll definitely find one. I'm pretty sure you should call ahead to make sure they're doing the free screenings, though—and just a heads-up, they usually try to upsell you on their own skincare products once they're done looking at you.

I don't think they're worth a damn, honestly.
just go get a proper exam from a dermatologist.

take, I don't know, Mayo Clinic...
you'll probably be waiting a while and end up paying like 300-$133

Skip that free consultation at the local pharmacy. I fell for it because my scalp and face were incredibly oily. They just look at your hair follicles under a microscope—after plucking one out, naturally—and then sell you some $6 shampoo and an $50 tonic. You end up dropping nearly $20 every month. They promised me two or three sessions would fix everything, but I finally gave up after five. It actually seems to work for the first month or two, but then everything reverts to the status quo.
I wouldn't recommend it personally.

I am in complete agreement with Eric Ruiz. My dear friend was prescribed a certain shampoo and scalp treatment; it proved effective for perhaps three or four applications before losing all utility. Seek out a private specialist instead. Their services are superior, albeit more costly.😬

Right, I overlooked a minor "detail." Everyone gets treated exactly the same way here, regardless of the issue. Doesn't that say enough?
