3:10 to Yuma

The movie is excellent... the ending feels a bit rushed, but I can forgive them 🙂

I wasn't really feeling that ending—it felt a little too Hollywood-pathetically dramatic for my taste.

It’s a remarkably solid piece of filmmaking, I suppose.
I feel compelled to offer my compliments to Christian Bale and Russell Crowe; even if the rest of the production had been an absolute disaster, those two alone might have salvaged it—though, in this case, they didn't actually have to.
That being said, while some might claim it’s the film of the year, I find myself disagreeing quite strongly. In my estimation, Zodiac and No Country for Old Men still hold a higher place, though I realize that is entirely a matter of personal taste.

Since I’ve always had a soft spot for the Western genre, and both Bale and Crowe are actors I genuinely respect, I found the film quite enjoyable.
In any case, it’s easily the best Western I’ve seen in years.
As for the ending, I actually liked it—I couldn't really picture it playing out any other way.

Bale is absolutely stellar. It’s honestly such a relief they didn't try to turn him into some cliché action hero who guns down everyone and rides off into a happy ending. He isn't some retired commando waiting for trouble to find him... He's just an honest farmer pushed into a desperate, insane mission by sheer circumstance.

I also appreciated seeing that even performers like Bale haven't quite reached Crowe's level yet, and that the whole production really revolves around whatever keeps Crowe entertained. Crowe did a magnificent job; he portrayed a man who is just cruel enough to lead a gang like his, even if he happens to be a better person than most of the guys wearing badges.

All in all, it's a solid film. I might have expected a different ending, but it works well enough... 😬

I've been hearing nothing but good things about this flick lately... I really ought to sit down and finally give it a watch...

Honestly, this movie was great. I’d go see it in a theater again in a heartbeat.
The acting was spot on across the board.
Christian Bale is my favorite. 😁
Russell Crowe actually surprised me—and I’m not usually his biggest fan.
Ben Foster was also killer as Charlie Prince.
Loved the ending.

Just finished watching... Bale basically carries the entire movie on his back, and honestly, Crowe doesn't even come close to his level here... the film is just incredible, though maybe that's just because I grew up practically swallowing every Western ever made... 🙂

Caught this last night and honestly? I was blown away. Russell Crowe is a beast, Christian Bale is incredible, the soundtrack kills... everything was spot on. Only thing is, that ending left me totally cold. Read some of the threads here and realized it’s not just me.

I just don't get Wade's motivation at the end, and Pavičić hit the nail on the head when they said the massacre felt unnecessary. I guess it's just meant to satisfy the newer crowd who finds an old-school Western like this too slow.

Anyway, definitely worth a watch.

Well, someone certainly has to—even if it's just by a tiny margin...😛

It was honestly such a breath of fresh air catching this 1957 original on PBS yesterday. I needed to clear my head after dealing with that absolute garbage from 2007. It’s wild how much that newer version just completely butchered the Western genre. And somehow, it's equally baffling that the remake actually holds a higher IMDb rating than the original. I guess that says everything you need to know about IMDb scores and how modern audiences perceive actual cinematic art these days.

Absolutely brilliant movie. Both Bale and Russell Crowe are incredible from start to finish. 🙂 I really love this kind of adventurous Western that doesn't rely on some cheesy romance subplot. Highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys crime adventures.

And if you don't like the film, watch it just for the stunning scenery—I absolutely love it.
