So, what would it actually feel like if you had this weird, nagging pain shooting all the way down your arm...
If I had to put words to it, it’s like... my veins are just throbbing or aching deep inside...
The thing is, the pain travels through the whole arm, and it won't let up for days. Then, after a few days of feeling okay, it just comes crashing back again...

Since I know I was being pretty vague there, I was wondering if anyone here could share their own experiences with stuff like this...

I should probably mention too, just for context, that this is happening to a woman.😍

How old are you? Is it just pain, or is there tingling too? What kind of pain is it... constant or pulsing? One arm or both?

19, we're talking about one hand here...
I can't really give you an answer on what kind of pain we're dealing with, since it's not even my own issue...

Good God😁 , when I asked about age, I wasn't implying your own arm was going numb; I was pointing out that in older patients, that kind of sensation is often a precursor to a heart attack. Look, let's get some actual details on the table here. Who are we talking about? How old is this person, and can you give me a much more precise description of what this pain actually feels like?

I had this dull ache and tingling sensation running down my left arm, so my GP sent me in for some neck imaging. Turns out, I’ve got cervicobrachial syndrome—basically caused by terrible posture and straining my neck too much. It’s essentially pain and numbness stemming from the cervical spine and radiating into one arm (or sometimes both). Most often, it’s just due to degenerative changes in the lower part of the neck.
It’s nothing life-threatening if you take it seriously and act early, but man, it’s a nuisance. I’ve been doing physical therapy exercises lately, and honestly, I feel a lot better.

Anyway, that was my experience. Hopefully, this helps a little.👍

Look, this just hit me a few hours ago—this relentless pain shooting through my entire arm, feeling as though my very veins are throbbing. It triggered a memory of a similar episode occurring when I was sitting in the exact same posture just an hour earlier. It starts right under the collarbone, doesn't it? And then there's this numbness, particularly in the hand, coupled with a bizarre ache in the elbow.
I am inclined to believe we are looking at a pinched nerve, or perhaps that aforementioned syndrome, assuming they aren't essentially the same thing.
Regardless, if we aren't talking about an elderly patient, the primary concern is usually the heart—though I find that unlikely given how long this has been persisting; if it were an actual myocardial infarction, the crisis would have arrived long ago by now. Therefore, it is most likely neurological. I suppose the only logical course is to see a doctor and get some imaging done.

If you’re feeling pain in your pinky, we might be looking at ulnar nerve issues—think something like compressive syndrome.
Now, if the discomfort hits your thumb, it could be cardiovascular, or perhaps compression of the median nerve. There are several different sites where that kind of pinching can occur.
If the pain travels up the left arm toward the thumb, you have to consider pericarditis. It could very well be heart-related.
Then there is cervical brachial syndrome, though we also have to account for
Thoracic Outlet Syndrome (TOS).
That involves the compression of blood vessels, nerves, or even a combination of both.
There is also the possibility of a brachial vein thrombosis, though usually, you would see swelling in the arm by then.
Of course, that isn't always the case. You could be dealing with a cervical rib, scalene fibrosis... honestly, there is a whole laundry list of possibilities.
To narrow this down, I need a much more detailed description. Which part of the arm is hurting? Does it happen when you lift your arm or lower it? Does the skin change color—turning red, blue, or pale?

Where exactly does the pain radiate? We need more specifics.
I happened to stumble upon this thread while browsing, so I figured I’d weigh in using my professional background, even if my expertise only covers certain aspects of these issues.
Regards,
