Pain Management Clinic

Has anyone here dealt with the pain management clinic at Rib?
Specifically, what's the word on Tomislav kukin? (Feel free to DM me)

And what kind of therapies do they actually offer over there? 😲

I don't know much about how things work over at Mayo Clinic, but generally speaking, clinics like that try to tackle pain using everything from acupuncture and ultrasounds to magnets, TENS units, and custom-tailored doses of painkillers or even fentanyl patches... they'll go all the way up to more invasive stuff like PCA pumps or epidural catheters if they have to.

This topic is pretty old and only has three posts in it. I’m sure everyone here has gained way more experience since then, so please, share what you know.
Has anyone on this forum visited the Mayo Clinic outpatient clinic to try acupuncture for pain management? I'd love to hear about your results. If there's already a similar thread going, please feel free to move this one.

For almost two years now, I’ve been dealing with this nagging pain basically every single day in my lower right abdomen, my glute, and my hip area..
Some days it hits harder than others, and some days it's more of a dull ache.
I have gone through a mountain of tests—I even had surgery back in November—but the pain hasn't budged, and honestly, nobody seems to know what the hell is actually causing it...
I was thinking about reaching out to a specialized pain management clinic at one of the hospitals in NYC, so I wanted to see if anyone here has any experience with that?

I can't really speak for what happened in Washington, D.C., but I spent some time in Boston, and honestly, it was a lifesaver for me.
The Bowen therapy helped me out quite a bit too.
Maybe look into checking on the fibromyalgia stuff.

Hey there🙂—so I finally went to see that specialist in the suburbs. It’s day 14 of my cycle, and honestly, the chronic bone pain and all those other random symptoms are just hitting me hard right now. I tried acupuncture to see if it would help, but man, it was such a bad experience for me personally.
Every single time I finished a session, I ended up feeling totally nauseous and throwing up. Plus, it felt super unprofessional because a different doctor would stick the needles in every time—it was so confusing since they were always using different spots and depths too. We were all crammed into this tiny little room, four people at once, which is the exact opposite of "relaxing."
I don't know, I wouldn't go back even if I could. I actually had a voucher for one more session under the same referral...
But looking at what everyone else says, it seems like it only really worked for people dealing with migraines.

Did you go to Boston for that Bowen therapy or was it in NYC? Give me the details so I can decide if I should go.

I went to Boston.
Honestly, you really have to check who’s actually doing the work, because lately, I feel like even random cosmetologists are trying to claim they do it. It seriously has to be a licensed physical therapist.
Back home, there’s this website that lists everyone practicing this method across all of Austria, and it specifies if they're actual physical therapists.
Check that out, maybe someone near you does it too.

The Holy Spirit is fine, and Rib is also quite good; they even have coverage over at Trauma...
Acupuncture yields excellent results provided it is performed by a true specialist. Doctors within hospital systems typically only cover therapies within their specific medical specialty, which might explain why some people run into issues there.
