Hey everyone!

So, I’ve been taking these 300 mg Clindamycin capsules, and yesterday while I was riding the Amtrak, it hit me that I totally missed a dose.
In a moment of pure stupidity, I thought, "Whatever, I'll just swallow it dry." But man, you have no idea what happened next.

The damn capsule got stuck and started dissolving right there in my throat. I ended up throwing it back up on the train maybe two minutes after swallowing, though honestly, it probably never even made it down to my stomach. I had zero clue that this stuff could be so aggressive. My entire throat feels absolutely shredded—it hurts like I'm dealing with some massive, nasty infection. It's especially brutal on the left side. Yesterday, I was basically just shoveling food down my throat trying to force anything through so it wouldn't feel like something was sitting there, but even this morning, the pain is just killing me.

Is there anything that actually works for this? Should I bother grabbing some throat lozenges, or is that a waste of money? What should I take?

THE PAIN AND BURNING ARE UNBEARABLE! I can't eat or swallow normally. Every single time I try to swallow, it makes this clicking sound, like I'm trying to gulp down a giant dumpling.

Help me out here!

Go see a doctor. This actually happened to me once with a standard antibiotic that wasn't even half as harsh as yours. It is seriously no fun, I know!

So what did the doc end up telling you? How did they actually fix things?

Ugh, I had a similar experience using Listerine mouthwash... I couldn't even swallow for three days...

It seems you might have irritated your throat just a little bit too much
it will likely pass in due time

So I rolled into the ER yesterday just hoping to get some quick advice on what I could pop to make this thing go away faster.

The doctor takes one look at me, tells me my throat is absolutely shredded, and just goes ahead and slammed a penicillin shot straight into my arm!
