Swollen, painful lymph nodes after drinking alcohol?

I was wondering if anyone here has dealt with something similar lately? Over the last year, whenever I have even a single drink—just one or two sips within a few minutes—I get this intense, really uncomfortable pain in my neck lymph nodes and my left armpit. It usually lingers for about an hour or so.

I’ve been doing some digging online, and apparently, having swollen or painful lymph nodes after consuming just a tiny bit of alcohol is quite rare, yet it can be a significant red flag for Hodgkin's disease. My sister actually passed away from that same illness, so there might be a genetic component at play here, and I happen to fall right into that typical age bracket too. On top of that, I've also been dealing with this strange, unexplained skin itching.

Now, just to be clear, I'm not someone who jumps at every little ache, and I'm definitely part of that group of people who avoids going to the doctor like the plague. That said, I have already scheduled some blood work with my physician, but I wanted to reach out and see if anyone else has had any comparable experiences. Thanks.

Not usually, but I get these knots in my neck right after taking even a single sip of anything alcoholic. Try cutting out alcohol entirely and you will likely find the results are quite similar, suggesting that alcohol itself isn't really a significant factor here...

Honestly, you might actually find hypochondria useful right about now.

I finally got my referral for a hematologist and an ultrasound for my liver and spleen (which, by the way, has at least a three-month waitlist. And here I was, being a total idiot, thinking that if there's even a slight suspicion of cancer or anything similar, every single day counts...))

Unfortunately, that’s just how the American healthcare system works....
We're only worth their time when we're paying our insurance premiums...

Otherwise, you can just go to a private clinic for the ultrasound. No waiting, it takes ten minutes, the equipment is actually more modern and precise than what they have in the public hospitals, and you get your results immediately (with a smile) for about $117...

Sadly, that's the only way...
unless you happen to know someone who can pull some strings for you...

You can get blood work done at a local lab right away without the wait, can't you?
