I was reading somewhere that you could drop three pounds just by eating a pound of cherries a day for three days straight. Is there any truth to that?

Oh, for sure. If you can, aim for the ones that are just a little bit unstable—that way, on top of your regular stomach issues, you get that nasty amoebic cramping too. Honestly, you'll be dropping like 8 pounds in two weeks easy. 👍

just toss in a little more milk... and maybe some carrots... and you'll see how beautifully everything comes together outdoors🤣

Well, I wouldn't be surprised if there's some truth to it... though at that point, you're probably just losing weight because you're sprinting to the restroom after eating that many cherries!

Exactly. Between the fruit acids and all that sugar, it basically acts like a laxative... shit happens!😁

Look, stop scaring her. You guys are acting like she’s going to end up in the ER just because she eats a few pounds of cherries. A little detox never hurt anybody.
(Though, honestly, if you dive into it too fast, it can mess with your stomach. It's better to stick to liquids—water, tea, maybe some all-natural juice without any added sugar—for a day or two first. That way, your system is actually ready for the sudden jump to raw fruits and veggies.
I dropped 5 pounds in about twenty days (and yeah, losing three pounds in three days would probably be overkill), mostly by sticking to raw produce. I did allow myself some whole-grain bread—nothing more than half a pound a week—and maybe two or three eggs here and there. I felt fantastic. They say the trick is eating just one type of fruit per meal. No additives, and absolutely zero sugar—not even in lemonade—because that just causes bloating. I ate as much as I could handle. Even bananas, which people claim make you fat? Please. Bananas make you fat if you're eating them with ice cream. If you're just eating fruit and vegetables, they won't.
Just make sure you wash that fruit thoroughly. Some people suggest soaking it in salt water for at least half an hour to help pull out those pesticides.

There’s actually some merit to trying out those 'fruit days'! 👍

From what I can gather, she was asking about eating a pound of cherries every single day. So, we aren't talking about someone polishing off three pounds in one sitting over the course of three days.
Personally, when cherry or strawberry season hits, I pretty much stop eating anything else except fruit.

Okay, so you lost 11 pounds, but what I actually want to know is, did any of that "stubborn fat" actually melt away (if you even had any)?

I mean, how are you supposed to weigh a pound less when you’ve got a whole pound of cherries sitting in your stomach and intestines? 🤣

Sure, the three-day crash diet works... you'll almost certainly lose those three pounds, but it’s definitely not healthy...

You don't even have to stick to cherries; you could do potatoes, bananas, bread, strawberries, bacon... whatever you want. As long as you eat nothing else and only drink water for three days, you'll drop the weight...

Just saying again—it's incredibly bad for you...

I’m wondering the same thing. Honestly, I recently lost about 9 pounds in a single week because I was sick, and I felt absolutely terrible—even though my actual size hadn't changed much, I just looked pretty rough with dark circles under my eyes and everything.

You aren't losing three pounds of fat; you're just flushing three pounds of water out of your system. To actually burn off three pounds of pure fat, you'd have to work your tail off at the gym!

Oh, please...
I’ve managed to drop five pounds of pure fat over the last four months.
And I’m not out here peddling those ridiculous seven-day crash diets or any of that nonsense.
Besides, you just need to understand basic math to see how it works. 🙂

That’s exactly my point! 😉

Ugh, maybe I should just stop inhaling bags of Lay's chips...

Alright, you caught me slipping, so I guess it’s my turn to step up and be the resident know-it-all for once. 😁

So, I was doing some math earlier—and honestly, my head is still spinning—but apparently, one pound of fat is roughly 3,500 calories. So if you're looking at something like two pounds, you're talking around 7,000 calories. It’s just... wow. It's actually kind of insane when you sit down and really think about the sheer volume of energy we're talking about. I guess it makes sense, but it's still pretty overwhelming to wrap your brain around.
Look, if you actually want to see the scale move, you have to be aggressive about it. I mean, I guess the math is pretty simple: you need to be eating 1,000 calories less than your maintenance level every single day if you’re serious about losing weight. It’s not rocket science, but people love to overcomplicate it. You just have to hit that deficit. Period. One kilo a week... honestly, I don't know if that's even realistic or just one of those numbers people throw around to sound productive. I guess maybe it's possible if you're being super strict, but man, it feels like a lot to aim for consistently..
Look, here’s the deal: most women actually need about 2,000 calories just to function. So, if they want to lose weight, I guess they should be eating around 1,000 or maybe 1,500 calories, and then just go out and run off that extra 500. It’s pretty simple math, really.
It’s really not that simple, you know? I mean, 1,000 calories is basically nothing—it's such a tiny amount of food. And then you're expected to go out and actually run on top of that? I guess it's just not realistic.
A whole pound a week!!!
If you just use a little bit of common sense, you can figure this out: anything that goes down through your digestive tract absolutely CANNOT be fat.

Honestly, I think anyone who actually falls for those "lose 5 pounds in 5 days" diet scams are just straight-up idiots. Sorry, but I said what I said.

I guess I should probably mention that it has a bit of a laxative effect. Just a heads-up! 🤮

Well, obviously.
I’m just asking because the whole thing felt kind of off to me. It seemed weird, I guess.

I mean, honestly, you could just go three days without drinking anything at all. It’s easy. You'd probably drop like ten pounds and feel so much better mentally, too. Just a total reset for your soul.
