Maria Palmer13, if I were you, I’d start being incredibly cautious about exposing your hands to harsh chemicals and constant water contact right away. I mean, seriously, if you absolutely have to deal with them, please just wear gloves. Once you cross that line into dealing with atopic dermatitis or any other kind of skin irritation, you’re basically walking blindly into a dead end. These things are notoriously slow to heal—if they even heal at all—and most of the creams and medications people turn to end up being more detrimental to your overall health than helpful, which just lands you in a much deeper hole. So, please, just protect your hands and stick to using some really neutral, gentle moisturizers.
Now, regarding those veins—assuming I caught everything correctly from what you mentioned about the back of your hand. My own veins have been quite prominent for years, but back before everything started acting up, they actually looked somewhat normal. However, once the first signs of dermatitis appeared and started spreading, the appearance of my veins took a significant turn for the worse. That sense of symmetry I used to have between my left and right hands? Completely gone.
And, for what it's worth, I also struggle with low blood pressure, though I suppose I'm not entirely sure if that has anything to do with it.

Thanks for the advice, Joseph Gray15, but look—I’m a waiter here. I can't exactly walk around serving coffee while wearing gloves; guests would think I'm totally tripping. It’s just not practical to be constantly pulling them on and off all shift. As for my skin, nothing's changed, though after what you said, I did notice some asymmetry—the left side looks a bit more pronounced, almost like the texture is different there. As long as it doesn't hurt, I can deal with the rest. But man, my elbows? They are killing me—so much so that the pain actually wakes me up at night. When it happens, I feel like I desperately need a heating pad on them. Just getting older, I guess... or maybe it's my spine, like the doctors keep telling me.

Yeah, I’m dealing with those same nasty, dry patches on my hands too—specifically running from my wrists down to my fingers. It’s honestly revolting.
Anyway, I’ve noticed that once I actually lie down in bed—which is totally normal, I guess—they tend to tighten up.

So, I just tried that little trick someone mentioned above—you know, where you lift your hands, or rather your forearms, straight up in the air? Well, I swear, it actually works! 👍

Not really. Just the occasional drink (though honestly, that’s pretty rare) and cigarettes (😠). 😬 😘

Low blood pressure is such a drag, and honestly, I deal with it too... it’s like, if I push myself too hard or even just hold my arms at a certain angle, it really shows... I've basically just gotten used to it by now though. What else can you do?

That could honestly be caused by anything from the heat to physical exertion... I get those same kinds of spikes myself sometimes too...

I noticed the exact same thing. You put your hands over your head and they pull back instantly. Takes maybe five or six seconds, then just as fast, they pop right back to how they were. Honestly, I think it’s just because it’s so hot out this summer.

The veins on my hands are super prominent, but my blood pressure isn't actually low.
I'm thinking it might just be a weight thing; I have pretty thin arms, so I guess the veins just show through more easily.
I've just gotten used to looking at them, I guess... whatever.

They're popping out on my back and the tops of my feet, obviously. 😬
The only real issue is that one particular vein is bulging way more than the rest, and man, does it sting. 😳

Same here. They flare up more often during the summer when it gets insanely hot.

It was freezing last night, and I noticed that the vein on the outer part of my sacrum has become much more prominent. It’s actually causing some mild discomfort depending on how I’m positioned. There are two specific spots where the pain is concentrated, and those are the exact points where the vein is most visible.

I should probably mention that when I’m sitting or lying down, you can't really see it, but once I stand up, it looks as if the vein has completely burst open.
