I honestly thought the "shaky cam" was going to be a real dealbreaker for me. There were a few specific scenes where you could just tell the camera work was amateurish because the frame kept jittering...

She’s 81 and he’s 36—talk about an age gap.
An American woman and an immigrant man.

It feels just like something straight out of his film.

Art mimics reality, which then goes back to mimicking art.

PBS is putting together a retrospective of his films—though goodness knows who actually keeps track of these schedules...

From what I can gather by reading the posts here, this late director was quite the darling of the critics, wasn't he?

I’m planning to catch both. Now we just wait to see which other titles they decide to pull out of the archives.
