Anyone know? Any specific red flags I should look out for?
Asking because I'm low-key terrified I might accidentally overdose on this supplement I'm taking. 😎

So, if you go overboard and hit acute toxicity levels, you’re looking at a total disaster zoneβ€”we're talking nausea, killer headaches, and diarrhea kicking in within a few hours, followed by this gross, full-body skin peeling thing. It’s nasty. Then you’ve got the chronic side of hypervitaminosis, which is more of a slow burnβ€”you lose weight, feel like a zombie, deal with digestive issues, and end up with red, itchy skin and that thick, crusty buildup. And yeah, just to make things even worse, if you take high enough doses during pregnancy, it’s actually teratogenic. Basically, it can mess with fetal development. Not exactly a fun weekend activity.

I’ve actually got a question regarding this topic myself:
Is it even possible to overdose on Vitamin A if you're taking retinol capsulesβ€”I think that's what they call themβ€”or if you're also supplementing with fish oil?

My apologies, just a quick correction to my last post,
those aren't actually retinol capsulesβ€”they're beta-carotene, which is basically provitamin A (sourced from all that natural goodness)

Chronic overdose.

Listen up, because people need to stop treating supplements like candy. If you go overboard with Vitamin A for too long, you’re asking for a world of hurt. We're talking hypervitaminosis A, and it's nasty. You start feeling exhausted, irritable, and lose your appetite. Your weight drops, you're puking, and your whole digestive system goes haywire. Then comes the fever, liver and spleen swelling, skin issues, hair loss, and lips that are so dry they actually crack and bleed. It doesn't stop thereβ€”you could deal with anemia, killer headaches, high calcium levels, even seizures. And don't get me started on the bone and joint pain and swelling. It gets even scarier with kids. You can get increased intracranial pressure, vision problems, ringing in the ears, and painful swelling along their bones. Worst of all? It can cause premature closure of the growth plates, which means it can literally stunt a child's growth. Don't be reckless.

Acute overdose. This is serious stuff.

One single dose of 1,000,000 IU or more can trigger an acute overdose. We’re talking serious stuff here: heavy sedation, dizziness, double vision, and killer headaches. You could also deal with nausea, vomiting, skin flushing, itching, or even peeling skin. Don't mess around with this.

And this guy? Natural wealth. There’s 10,000 IU in one capsule. That’s way more than the daily dose listed on the manufacturer's website. Seriously? πŸ˜• )

Thanks for the input πŸ‘

Still doesn't click for meβ€”how much beta carotene is actually too much before you start doing damage? 😎 People stack up on it right before summer thinking it’s some kind of sunscreen hack, but those doses blow way past the 2000 IU limit

Vitamin A isn't really even a thing here anymore.
unknown, they don't make those specific drops anymoreβ€”I ended up just grabbing a combo of Procter & Gamble Vitamin A + D instead.
