Woke up this morning with this bright red spot right on my eyeball—like, on the white part—that definitely wasn't there when I went to bed last night! As soon as I opened my eyes, I started testing my vision to see if everything was still okay. I think I can see fine, but honestly, there are moments where I'm second-guessing myself... Does anyone have a clue what causes this? Is it an allergy? Maybe just dry eyes from the heater running all night? Or could it be something scarier like eye pressure or even something neurological?! Please, let me know what you think. I’m especially looking for anyone who’s dealt with this before or has any medical/eye doctor experience. Also, does anyone know of any natural remedies for stuff like this? Thanks in advance.

Just leave it alone, it’ll clear up. There isn't really a "treatment" for a subconjunctival hemorrhage. Yeah, it happens, usually from some kind of minor trauma. Looks pretty nasty, but it'll pass.

I’d leave it alone, but honestly, everything's just too much to look at right now—whether it's a book, my laptop, or even the TV... I feel totally off all day, like I'm terrified something's actually wrong with my head 😬 (just this weird pressure or something)!... 😢

Walter Wilson, don't even sweat the whole thing about high intracranial or eye pressure😉—it's probably not worth your headspace. But look, if that redness doesn't clear up in three or four days, go ahead and hit up your primary care doctor first. They can hook you up with a referral to an eye specialist if they think it's necessary, though I’m pretty sure it'll just settle down on its own.

You shouldn't need any intense medical treatments, but seriously, try not to strain those eyes too much.

I'm trying, but I haven't exactly seen a pirate eye patch for sale at CVS yet😬, so when I'm reading or stuck at my computer, I'm still straining. But yeah, I think it'll pass. I'll let you know. Thanks, 😘 Jerry Parker11!

Understood. I am currently pregnant and ate something that didn't sit right, resulting in a night of vomiting. Upon waking, I noticed slight swelling and redness on my eyelid. I have been applying chamomile compresses, but there has been no change by the second day. Any advice?

Starting a thread here because I’m curious—can you actually pop an eye capillary just from being pissed off or stressed out?
