Ever since I was woken up yesterday morning by this intense cramping in my calf, things haven't really settled down. That specific area feels incredibly stiff and is quite tender to the touch, and honestly, it just won't relax. I’ve tried various massages and stretching exercises, but nothing seems to make a dent. In fact, I have this nagging feeling that it might actually be getting worse, as one leg looks noticeably more swollen than the other. I'm not entirely sure what triggered this; I haven't done anything out of the ordinary. I suppose I've dealt with occasional leg cramps before, but I've never experienced anything that persists for two full days without any sign of letting up. Does anyone happen to know what might help in a situation like this?

Good grief!!! This is seriously spooky! What are the odds!
I actually had a muscle cramp in my left calf wake me up in the middle of the night yesterday, and I practically bolted out of bed like a maniac.
It didn't even start feeling better until I let my leg hang off the side of the bed for a bit to get the circulation moving again... though I could feel that dull ache all day yesterday... luckily it's gone today..
I'm probably not much help here and I don't really know what to suggest, but maybe try some Deep Relief gel or something similar...

& It’s pretty common for pregnant women to deal with numb legs...

I am not pregnant. Honestly, this is the third day now... I might just start a solo trek through the wilderness like some character from a medical drama 😬

We could sit here all day playing doctor, but honestly? My best advice is to just head 😉 over to your physician.

Are you dealing with varicose veins in your legs? And besides the pain, is the area noticeably thicker, or maybe a little red and warm compared to the rest of your leg?

Honestly, you really ought to go see a doctor—especially if your leg is looking swollen.

I have some visible veins. I don't really see any redness, though the area feels a bit warmer to the touch. It’s mostly just a thickening in the calf muscle itself. It doesn't actually interfere with my walking or my ability to bend my knees, but I can feel it constantly.

I suppose I’m a bit worried that if I go in, the doctor might get frustrated with me and think I'm just being dramatic over nothing...
Then again, maybe it will just clear up over the weekend. It seems to feel slightly better today, I guess.

Seriously though, if this doesn't chill out by Monday, just head straight to your doctor. Don't overthink it—they aren't going to kick you out or tell you you're being an idiot. Just go.😉

You aren't making these symptoms up. They're real, and your doctor really needs to take them seriously.
Honestly, if you're dealing with pain and swelling, that’s more than enough reason to go see your doctor. Get checked out, and they can send you to a specialist if things look serious.

I really want this pain and swelling to clear up ASAP, but hey, if it doesn't happen by the end of the weekend, I guess I'll just deal with it. Hey docs! Let's aim for Monday. After that, we can just keep the conversation going right here in this thread.😉

That’s quite the cheerful little username, isn't it?

And honestly, my illness kind of dictated the username 👎. It’s definitely a bit weird and maybe even a little dark, but I actually wrote a whole post about it on my blog because so many people kept asking why I picked it.

Hey Mary, hope your leg is feeling better!👍
