Gallbladder polyps: Any experiences?

I don't believe so, though I am curious about the exact location of the polyp. Is there only one? And does cholestasis occur in these cases?

I had an abdominal ultrasound, and the doctor claims it isn't dangerous—just looks like a tiny little circle, just one. I get nauseous often and sometimes feel pain on my left side. I guess I don't know if there's any connection.😢

On the left? Isn't that usually on the right side? 🤔

When it comes to those gallbladder polyps, abdominal surgeons usually suggest getting it taken out—basically a cholecystectomy.

Starting a new thread here because I’ve been diagnosed with gallbladder polyps. There are a few tiny ones, plus one measuring about 7 or 8 mm. This was first flagged during my physical back in January. I just went in for a follow-up and met with a surgeon for a consultation. His take is that while I'll eventually need a laparoscopic procedure, it isn't urgent right now. He suggested monitoring them every six months and waiting until they become a real issue before taking action.

I completely blanked on asking this, though I think I gathered the answer from what he said, but I really want confirmation. When dealing with polyps, do they just remove the polyps themselves, or do they have to take out the entire gallbladder?

Also, a somewhat basic question: if a laparoscopic surgery is minimally invasive and uses such small incisions, how on earth do they pull the entire gallbladder out? 😁

I’ve also been diagnosed with a gallbladder polyp. Right now, it’s sitting at 4 millimeters, and I have to go back for a follow-up in six months... if it ends up growing, my assumption is they'll just go ahead and remove the entire gallbladder through surgery... but then what?

Look, I had one that was 13 mm. I didn't wait around for the "wait and see" approach—I went straight in for surgery because I honestly didn't want to deal with the constant anxiety of checkups, and let's be real, these things don't just vanish on their own. They do it laparoscopically, and yeah, you lose the whole gallbladder, just like when you're dealing with gallstones. If you stall, you're just asking for trouble; eventually, that polyp can turn into a stone or something much worse. I had my procedure on Wednesday, but I was already back at work by Monday—so, all told, I was only out for four days.
