Lately, my joints have been popping constantly. It’s not just the occasional click here and there—it happens every single time I move.

What’s actually causing this? And more importantly, how do I fix it?

I’ve been taking Glucosamine, but honestly, I’m not feeling any difference at all.

flex-a-min, is that glucosamine and Vitamin C you're taking? If so, just be careful with your stomach. Don't overdo it... focus on a balanced diet and light exercise... my shoulders have been acting up lately 😁
I'm planning to get back into shape myself, so I'd recommend the same approach to you.
If those joint crepitations are really noticeable, it might be wise to see an orthopedist to rule out any nutritional deficiencies, though that’s only necessary if the symptoms are severe and the doctor hasn't established an underlying cause yet.

I've been dealing with ankle pain for a while now, and since I play recreational soccer, it’s becoming a real issue. Almost every time I strike the ball, I get this sharp pain that makes it hard to even stay on my feet. It happens after sitting for long periods too. When I'm on the field, I have to be careful not to kick too hard just to avoid aggravating the joint. The sensation is exactly like a sprain, except the pain doesn't go away... This has been going on for about three months now.
If anyone has any advice, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks in advance!

Look, why don't you try asking your doctor to run some immunology tests? Like, check for ANA (antibodies), C3, C4, anti-dsDNA, and just get a full blood panel done. Seriously, if you aren't finding a way to fix this and it's been dragging on this long, it probably isn't just bad luck. In Washington, D.C., there's an immunology department over at the Mayo Clinic, so just head over there and see what they say.

Hold up, if you're from Monterey then you're honestly better off heading over to San Francisco to see Dr. Martin, Perkins, or Krstulović at the immunology department over at Mercy Hospital, but seriously, get all those blood values checked out first—and for goodness' sake, make sure they run an RF test for rheumatoid factor too. Don't be paranoid about it, it’s just smart to get it done, and hey, maybe once you know what's up, you could try hitting the gym or getting some light exercise in or something like that.

If you've been dealing with pain for three months straight, you definitely need to check in with your primary care doctor. From there, they’ll probably suggest seeing a specialist to figure out what's actually going on and how to fix it.

And why on earth would he need such expensive testing right off the bat? What's the logic there? Aside from mentioning pain, the guy hasn't actually said much else. He probably isn't even bruised or red or anything. I think Charles Edwards8 put it better. 👍

Lately, my finger joints have been killing me. It’s at its absolute worst in the morning before I can even get them moving properly—I've actually noticed that my fingers, right near the knuckles, seem to be twisting slightly out of alignment. I’m normally pretty healthy and don't make a habit of running to the doctor, but this is starting to really freak me out. The pain is getting intense, and honestly, I really don't want to just rely on a steady stream of painkillers. Does anyone have any ideas? Also, if you know a good specialist, please let me know.

🙏So, I'm 18. About six months ago, I ended up stuck in the hospital for two weeks dealing with gastritis. Everything went fine there—got cured, five stars, whatever—but while I was recovering, my joints started acting crazy. Just constant aching and clicking everywhere. I’ve done three different rheumatology tests and they all came back totally normal. I used to have throat issues too, eventually had my tonsils out, and now I’ve got an ear issue that needs surgery because of all those old infections. Other than that, I'm healthy as a horse. Anyone else dealt with this weird joint stuff? Any advice on who I should see to figure out why my body is falling apart? Thanks

My joints are killing me—specifically my arms and legs, just those areas...

It's been going on for about 8 to 10 days now, and honestly, it feels like it's getting worse.

I already went to see my doctor and they ran some tests to check for rheumatoid arthritis, but I won't have the results back for a few more days.

In the meantime, I’m running a slight fever every now and then (around 100°F), and I feel this overwhelming urge to just sleep. As soon as the pain in my bones and joints kicks in, I get hit with this massive wave of exhaustion.

Aside from the pain, I don't have any other symptoms. I've got these little tender lumps on my hand joints that ache whenever I move my hands, followed by this pain in my fingers and right in the middle of my palms—though I can't pinpoint the exact spot. It’s the same sensation in my shins, forearms, and upper arms, but it doesn't hit my knees. It’s this sharp, pulsing sensation, kind of like when you have a toothache.

The pain is constant, it just jumps from one spot to another, and it's leaving me feeling completely wiped out.

Does anyone have any clue what this could be? I've never dealt with anything like this before.

It hit me all at once, honestly. My joints just gave out on me—mostly my hands and my ankles. I was, I don't know, totally locked up. Like, there was zero chance I could turn a key in my car, brush my teeth, or even just touch my thumb to my index finger to grab something.

On top of that, I started getting these dark red patches on my forearms. The doctors called them erythema nodosum. As for the joint stuff, even though I’ve been seeing an
immunologist-rheumatologist for years now, I still don't have a solid diagnosis (this all started back in 2003).

They initially suspected sarcoidosis, but apparently, that wasn't it either... I guess.

Nowadays, I still get occasional joint pain, but it’s nothing compared to how bad it used to be.
I've noticed that whenever I deal with intense emotions—like some kind of shock or major stress—the pain flares right up. And yeah, the fatigue is always there... just constant, heavy exhaustion.

I’m going through something pretty similar right now, and honestly, I haven't the slightest clue which way is up... I’m dealing with these sharp, shooting pains that just migrate from joint to joint and muscle to muscle—it’s driving me absolutely insane, and the exhaustion is just brutal too.😢It first cropped up years ago, but about three months back, everything just came rushing back. I’ve gone through a mountain of tests and everything seems fine... so now they’re trying some experimental stuff over at the Ribbon.

Hey everyone!
I’ve been dealing with aching joints since I was a kid, honestly. Back in elementary and high school, my knees used to kill me, especially at night when everything just feels more intense.
I had some tests done back then—can't quite remember the specifics, but they were all related to the pain—and everything came back totally normal. I even remember doctors telling me it was just because of the weather changes or maybe just because I was still growing!
Around 18 or 19, the pain finally let up, but then a few years later, it hit me again—except this time it’s my hands, specifically my palms and elbows, and occasionally my shoulders too. Lately, it’s been happening almost every single day, and it is just incredibly uncomfortable, plus my hands feel super weak. I stumbled upon something online suggesting that joint pain could actually be a sign of a zinc deficiency.
Other than that, I’m completely in the dark about what might be causing this or how to actually fix it, so I’m reaching out to see if anyone here has dealt with something similar? If you know anything or can point me toward what kind of bloodwork or specialists I should look into, please let me know! Seriously, any advice at all helps! 😉

Thanks in advance!

The fact that your knees were bothering you back when you were a kid isn't really a huge red flag, and honestly, it’s pretty common.
What’s happening with you right now is what we should actually focus on. It would be a good idea for me to check in with my doctor so I can get a referral to a physical therapist...

Alright, I guess I'll just head over to see Dr. Martin after all. Thanks for the input!

Hey there!
I’m looking for some advice regarding this condition I'm dealing with.

For the last three months, my joints have been absolutely killing me.
Specifically, it’s my knees, elbows, shoulders, spine, hands, and occasionally my fingers.

I feel a dull ache constantly, mostly in my hand joints and my cervical spine, but after any kind of physical exertion—like running or whatever—the pain flares up. It sometimes gets so bad it feels like a full-on cramp.

I get this feeling like something is wrong with my tendons and that my joints are just weak.

I’m 30 years old, and this whole thing started about three or four months ago.
I’ve been active in sports for 15 years and I’ve seriously never dealt with anything like this before.

Basically, every joint hurts. On top of that, I went in to get tested for hepatitis, chlamydia, and a bunch of other stuff, but luckily everything came back negative.

My ASL (if I remember correctly) is elevated, though my WR and RF levels are normal. My CBC looks fine.

We thought maybe it was strep, but they couldn't find anything in my throat...

Look, if your ASL is actually elevated, we're talking some kind of strep situation here... honestly, most online searches will just tell you that you were exposed to strep, but since you’ve got those other symptoms too... did your doctor put you on antibiotics yet? If they did, do yourself a favor and grab some immune support. Antibiotics can really wreck your system, leaving you feeling pretty wiped out. Maybe pick up some of those Emergen-C drops or something similar.

So, I finished my round of antibiotics and polished off about two boxes of Zithromax (roughly 60 pills over a two-week stretch). It’s been two weeks since I wrapped up the treatment.

Honestly, nothing has changed. Not a single thing.
I finally got my nasal swab results back today.
Everything came back totally clear.

Maybe we need to look at some other ideas?
