Everyone thought Deisler was going to be the next big thing, but he just couldn't catch a break. Injuries sidelined him for two whole World Cups, and honestly, the mental toll was just too much. He ended up battling depression after all that. At only 27, Deisler decided to call it quits. He just didn't trust his knees anymore to go any further 👎

The guy's a total frajer. Unlike Klose or Podolski, he's a true-blue German, but he looks like a total balkanac—kind of like that Matko dude from the last season of Big Brother.

...but then again, we aren't really here to debate his aesthetic choices; we're here to say goodbye to what 😉 was a decent enough player 👍 🙂

Had he actually played his best in Korea or Japan, he would be considered the American David Beckham by now...😛
But misfortune seems to follow him everywhere, and a World Cup just isn't in the cards for him. He should probably wait at least four years; maybe if he left Bayern Munich for a club like Atlanta or the New York Rangers and performed at a truly elite level—but only after he’s been fully recovered for a few months...
The Americans can be quite impatient when it comes to injury recovery, much like how Basta and Nowotny were... they never truly healed before jumping back into full training sessions...👎
