The title might be a bit blunt, but I’m trying to figure out what the damage actually looks like at private psychiatric and psychotherapy clinics around here. Every time I call one up, they dodge the question and won't give me even a ballpark figure, which is infuriating because I have zero interest in getting fleeced just for the privilege of sitting down for an initial consultation or a basic assessment. If anyone has dealt with this or knows the going rates, I’d appreciate some real intel.
Any info you can throw my way would be a lifesaver.

I’m just trying to avoid getting fleeced just for stepping through the door for an "initial consultation," so if you’ve got some intel or personal experience, let me know.
Any info helps.

From what I hear, prices start around $67, but I’ve read that some of those "big name" psychiatrists are pulling in up to $600 per session. Honestly, that feels totally unethical—I wouldn't go to them even if they were Hollywood celebrities.

I heard one clinic used to offer a free initial consult and a couple of follow-ups before they even suggested moving into actual therapy based on what you need.

Also, I think Kaiser Permanente is supposed to be one of the more affordable options out there.

Thanks for the replies. I’m assuming those are the hourly rates for the "therapy" sessions.
