That was way back. ... even if they bumped them up to 15k, some people are still seeing chaos with 30k. ... I'm talking about earnings gaps, not just base salary.

I’ve officially hit 40, and frankly, I haven't even seen a doctor about it yet.

Honestly, whenever I visit my doctor, she practically kicks me out the door no matter what I say. It feels like nothing I bring up is ever "serious" enough for her. I can't even get a basic referral without showing up five different times just to plead my case! I’ve been feeling quite poorly for a while now, but she just orders a blood test and tells me everything looks fine and to head home. She refuses to actually dig deeper. I even begged her to run a blood culture when I was dealing with those weird skin spots, chills, night sweats, and chest pains, but she just brushed me off with a dermatology referral—and they didn't help at all. Then there was the neck ultrasound; I spent a year and a half asking for that referral, yet she wouldn't even bother to physically palpate my swollen glands, neck, or thyroid to justify why I even needed it in the first place!
And to top it off, she tried to treat a severe sinus infection with nothing but some saline spray instead of prescribing antibiotics!
The first time I ever asked for a mammogram referral after turning 40, she actually had the nerve to ask, "Why do you need that? Isn't it a bit early for you to be getting a mammogram?" Can you believe that?
Most recently, after I had COVID, I went back a month later to discuss the lingering symptoms I was struggling with, and she told me I was too early for an appointment—that I should wait longer for my body to recover. But I'm sitting here feeling terrible! Honestly, I’m losing the motivation to even go anymore when I know I'll just be sent right back home.
