A few months back, Trevor gave me a solid breakdown of what I was dealing with, but my latest follow-up shows things have shifted. My stenosis jumped from 60% to 70%, and it’s just on the left side. My doctor wants me to get an MS CT scan, and they already mentioned surgery might be necessary. Right now, all I'm really feeling are headaches and dizziness. I don't smoke, my blood pressure is low, cholesterol is fine, and my blood sugar is normal... so I honestly don't get why this stenosis is getting worse.
The issue is, you can't just get an MS CT anywhere—it has to be done at the Mayo Clinic, and the waitlist there is brutal.
So, here's my question: Is it better to pull the trigger on this now, or should I wait until it hits 80 or 90%?

If they only estimated the stenosis using a Doppler ultrasound, you really have to keep in mind that the results can vary a lot depending on who’s running the scan. I guess you get a much more accurate picture if you go with an angiography or a CT scan instead.
At that point, it might be a good idea to check in with a vascular surgeon. I should probably mention that with a blockage at that level, endovascular options—like getting a stent placed in the carotid artery—are definitely on the table, so you wouldn't necessarily need traditional surgery. Also, how can they even call it "asymptomatic" if you're dealing with dizziness?

She gave me that diagnosis even though I told her about the dizziness and this constant, pounding headache that just won't quit, no matter what pills I take. She just asked if I was feeling any numbness anywhere and that was basically it. Now, my follow-up is scheduled for two months from now instead of the usual six. When I asked if this could be caused by a sudden blockage—you know, everyone keeps talking about those issues—she said the only way that happens is the classic way. She isn't planning on operating; she's strictly sticking to diagnostics.
Should I just wait until the Stenosis Aca gets worse, or should I get this handled right now?
