So, I’ve run into a bit of a situation.
I used to have such great skin—really supple and soft...
But over the last couple of years, things have gone totally haywire!! No matter how gentle I am, even just touching my face leaves these nasty red marks that look awful and take forever to fade. On top of that, my skin will get incredibly dry and rough, only to flip overnight and become super oily and covered in tiny red bumps.
My doctor insists that all these changes over the past two years are just stress-related. Personally, I have a nagging feeling it might be something more than just being stressed out.
I also saw a dermatologist, and it was the usual routine: "you have sensitive skin"... "use gentle cleansers"... "avoid soap"... "make sure you use Sorbolen."

Quick question for everyone: has anyone else dealt with something similar, and how did you fix it? Also, does anyone know of any good natural skincare remedies?
Thanks!

My skin used to be great—super bouncy, soft, you know the drill...
But lately, maybe over the last two years, things have just gone totally haywire!! Every single time I touch my face, even if I'm being incredibly gentle, I leave these nasty red marks behind that look absolutely gross and take forever to fade. Plus, it's like a roller coaster; one day my skin is painfully dry and rough, then twenty-four hours later it's an oily mess covered in tiny little red bumps.
My doctor keeps chalking up every single change in my body over the last couple of years to stress. Honestly, I’ve got this nagging feeling it’s more than just nerves (or maybe it isn't stress at all).
I went to a dermatologist too, and get this—it was the usual routine: "you have sensitive skin"... "use mild cleansers"... "stay away from soap"... "make sure you use Sorbolen."

Quick question for the group: anyone else dealing with this kind of chaos, and how did you fix it? Any recommendations for natural skincare stuff?
Thanks!

To be perfectly honest, I don't buy the "stress" excuse for a second. Something else is definitely going on, but since there's no other info to go on—and we all know a solid medical history is everything when trying to figure out a diagnosis—there's not much smart advice I can actually give you.

Are you absolutely certain those blood work results came back normal?

Sorbolen is a cleansing cream—or foam, really—specifically designed for sensitive skin and folks dealing with eczema.
My blood work came back mostly fine—well, except for my cholesterol being slightly elevated, I think it was around 6.
I was just wondering if anyone here might know of any good natural alternatives.
I’m honestly not even sure myself—all I know is that red patches start appearing on my nose the second I touch it. 😠

Does Sorbolen actually treat anything, or is it strictly for bathing?

That's a substitute for soap

Ever since I moved to the States, I haven't been able to find anything containing Sorbolen anywhere.

Is there any available here?

Or is there something else I should be using instead?

My kids and I are really struggling with this; even the water is drying out our skin

My mom dealt with stuff just like this. It dragged on for years, and she tried every single thing under the sun, bouncing from one specialist to another, until finally, a doctor correctly diagnosed her with rosacea and put her on the right treatment. Things have improved massively for her since then.
