Not a bad way to kill an hour or two—just hanging out in front of the TV

As for me? It absolutely killed my evening... Honestly, they could have saved this thing if they just threw in more sex scenes or maybe a few more stabbings—make it an erotic thriller or something, you know? At least then it would feel like actual cinema. As it stands, there are just way too many pointless subplots—I think I actually slept through half the movie because nothing was making any sense.

The movie was a total dud. I actually had high hopes, but man, this was just as bad as King Arthur or The Lost Battalion.

I mean, it’s Hollywood, so what else is there to expect? Honestly, I just want to know how many of you actually bothered to read the original Tristan and Isabella story, or if you even tried to look it up after seeing the movie. I watched it mostly out of curiosity just to see the director's take, but I still feel like Tristan and Isabella are on a completely different level than Romeo and Juliet or any other cliché romance drama. Americans really struggle with casting sometimes... maybe that’s part of the issue, because the Tristan in this movie feels like some kid, whereas in the legend, he was a grown man. It feels like they made this specifically for teenagers rather than an adult audience. Big fail on that front
