"Deliverance" is that movie by John Borman—I can't quite recall the exact spelling—starring Jon Voight, where he and his buddies get terrorized by those crazed hillbillies. There aren't any monsters in it at all!!!!!

As for Liberation, it wasn't even intended to be a classic, especially since the writer himself trashed the film, and the subject of male victimization was a massive taboo back then...

In other words, what kind of films would actually qualify for a thread titled "Movies That Were Intentionally Engineered to Be Classics"? 😁

Because, if you ask me, neither a massive blockbuster budget nor the raw quality of the filmmaking can guarantee whether a movie will actually achieve legendary status or just fade away.
