How do I upload images and videos to the forum?

I just went in to test things out, and man, they’ve completely overhauled the functionality—looks like they might actually start charging you for thumbnails now. 🤷

My usual workaround when I need to resize something is pretty simple: I’ll upload the full-size version normally, then upload a smaller version right after. Then, I just post the small one, but I wrap it in a link that points back to the high-res version.

For example:

Not sure if that makes sense or if you follow my logic, but yeah... that's how I handle it.

Just testing things out to see if this works.

I know my way around resizing images I grab from the web; there are plenty of online tools for that kind of thing.
But I’m hitting a wall when it comes to the photos I actually take myself—the ones I transfer over to my PC from my camera rather than downloading them.

I assumed I could just run those through an online resizer too, but for some reason, it isn't working out. What's the trick with these files? 🤷

Since you're already using Tinypic, there’s actually a "Resizing" option available that lets you scale the image down specifically for the forum.

I'm wondering why my very first post shows nothing but a link now, when it used to show the full image. I want to be able to post the whole thing directly.

As for resizing, I usually just use Shrink. I tried taking that same image from above and scaling it down, but since I didn't download it from the web myself, it won't work—whereas the ones I grabbed from the internet go through just fine. 😲

The file size was just way too massive, so I pulled it down.

What part isn't clicking😁?
First, type out (image) and make sure you close that bracket.
If that's too much work, just look for that tiny yellow icon that looks like a little mountain when you're making a post. Click that, paste your link, and you're golden...
