Tried it, and honestly? Nothing. Just a disgusting taste. You can always get hammered and puke, though. At least you'll feel good while you're consuming it. As for the thermometer, just stick it under a stream of warm water—or just bang it against the mercury reservoir (that’s a joke if it's a digital one).

Some of my buddies back in the service used to pull stuff like that too. I didn't exactly ask my Great-Grandpa about whether eating French fries would give him the flu during the war.

I decided to eat about a quarter of a raw potato, and honestly? It totally backfired. I ended up running a fever and dealing with a massive headache right after.

I had two big baked potatoes about five or six hours ago and honestly? Nothing. No fever, no sweats, absolutely zero symptoms, even though I've got a huge programming final tomorrow. 😠
