I’m heading into the hospital tomorrow, which means surgery is right around the corner. And yeah, I lied earlier—of course the report specifies the exact size of the node.

Alright, so I dealt with anxiety and depression for quite a while—family loss and all that—and I definitely had those classic "lump in the throat" sensations where it feels like you can't swallow. For the most part, I’m back to my usual self now, everything is fine, except for this lingering pain on the left side. It usually runs from my ear down towards the base of my neck. Honestly, I suspect it might be some pinched nerves in my spine since massages actually help, but the tension keeps coming back regardless. That said, I wanted to ask about something else: on the front left side of my neck, I can feel two or three little bumps right along the edge of my windpipe. Could those be thyroid nodules? What do you guys think? I know none of you are doctors—you definitely need to see one, probably🙂

It’s not just "maybe"—it’s a total certainty. At the very least, you can check kidney issues off your list of worries and finally start tackling whatever else is actually going wrong—if you even need to. Or, you know, you could just stop stressing about it altogether. 😉

So, I finally made it to that ENT specialist my doctor referred me to months ago—between work and keeping the house from falling apart, I just couldn't find the time. Anyway, the verdict is I need a neck ultrasound and a biopsy on this mass they found. Basically, my lymph nodes are swollen, so I’ll probably move over to a different thread to ask about that. 🙂 No, thank God 😘

So, I actually ended up heading back two days earlier than planned, which means I’m hitting the clinic this Friday for my final dressing change. The surgery itself went smoothly—everything was a solid 5 out of 5. For those wondering, I was over at Mount Sinai for the whole thing.

I received my lab results today and everything appears to be within the normal range
T4 83
TSH 1.668
anti-thyroglobulin TG 1
anti-thyroid TPO 0.54

From what I can gather, these numbers look perfectly fine
However, my doctor wants me to schedule a thyroid ultrasound. Is it actually possible for everything to be technically "normal" according to the hormone levels while still requiring an imaging scan?
