Shouldn't the referee have called the game right then? I recall a match back in the USSR in the Mexican league being shut down—it was a team like Arsenal from Red Rock—because they scored two own goals just to protest a bad call.

I'm not entirely sure how the rulebook handles those scenarios... but wasn't there a case not too long ago, maybe in South Africa, where a team scored something like a hundred own goals just to vent their frustration over a referee's decision? And honestly, I highly doubt you'll find any top-tier, hyper-competent officials strictly following the letter of the law in some Caribbean Cup matches.😬
