Instead of giving you a full-blown review, I think I'll just lay out the facts and let them speak for themselves:
- It’s directed by Shane Black, the same mastermind behind the scripts for Lethal Weapon 1,2,3, Last Boy Scout, and Last Action Hero...
- You've got Robert Downey Jr and Val Kilmer leading the charge, with a little appearance by Corbin Bernsen along the way... 😬
- Produced by the legendary Joel Silver himself.😬

Honestly, the movie is exactly what the marketing makes it out to be... if anything, it takes that premise and cranks it up to eleven.🤣

I agree—actually, I already put it on my list of the 5 best movies from last year.

"Don't worry, I saw The Lord of the Rings. I'm not going to end this 17 times..."

Hilarious, truly. image

I happened to catch this movie on TV last night
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0228488/
Unfortunately, I drifted off right when the old man was making his escape from the hospital, so I missed how it all wrapped up. But from what I managed to see, it seemed 👍

Those are actually two different movies.

Kiss Kiss Bang Bang was easily my absolute highlight of last year. To be fair, it didn't quite hit every single one of my expectations—it definitely lost a bit of steam halfway through—but even so, it was still the most fun I’ve had sitting in a movie theater in a very long time.

Sure, maybe it didn't hit every single one of my expectations perfectly and it stumbled just a tiny bit during the second half, but honestly, it was still the most fun I've had sitting in a movie theater in a really long time.

It’s actually quite brilliant how Black managed to pull off such a phenomenal gag for his directorial debut, isn't it? He crafts this seamless blend of parody and homage, which basically gives him a built-in safety net where he can mask any minor narrative slip-ups by leaning on those stylistic nods to the classics. It's incredibly clever... and damn well works too. 😬

The absolute best part has to be that scene in the restroom with the Russian roulette.

Man, what a total joke—it’s full of these "brilliant" little moments 😍

But I will say this: the opening credits and the animation design handled by Danny Yount are actually 👍

It’s definitely an entertaining ride, though I have to admit it occasionally tries a little too hard to be clever for its own good.
The whole thing feels like it’s attempting to be the 21st-century version of Pulp Fiction, but honestly, Quentin Tarantino didn't need to constantly wink at the audience or shout "GEDDIT? GEDDIT?" at us just to prove a point.

It was actually kind of amusing to watch Silver still trying to push that specific visual aesthetic he used in Swordfish and The Matrix. 😬

It’s an action comedy, plain and simple. What even is it? Like some kind of 21st-century Pulp Fiction? Honestly, it’s probably the funniest thing I’ve sat through in a long, long time. Look, Shane Black has always been a master at this specific vibe—nothing really changes there, he just hits his stride every single time. Nothing new under the sun, really... except maybe for Last Action Hero.

Look, let me play smart for a second—he didn't actually write the whole Lethal Weapon 1,2,3 run; he just did the first one, and everything else was basically just riding on the coattails of those characters he created.

it isn't really a "good cop vs. bad cop" dynamic—more like a quirky New York vibe...

Brilliant 😁 ...the movie is fantastic 🙂
