I actually have an explanation if you're looking for one. It's because people keep embedding full-sized images directly into posts instead of using thumbnails like everyone else does. Because of that, even someone on basic broadband spends forever waiting for the page to load. Plus, calling it "Multimedia" shouldn't just be about fan photos. If there was more variety, people might actually follow it. There's your answer.

Nobody is stopping you from posting non-fan related photos...
But I'll give you this much—regarding the sheer size of the page... Thumbnails or links would be a far more practical solution...

That is somewhat surprising to me, as I tend to check on a thread as soon as someone leaves a post.

And yes, I personally don't mind images being posted directly in threads; in fact, I might even prefer that over external links, though I haven't really formed a strong opinion regarding thumbnails yet.😁

Nah, I actually post every link to a video I upload or find online in a separate thread on purpose. Why? Because honestly, who's going to notice it in that massive mess of photos anyway?

I'm with you on that...

Besides, nobody else has even complained about direct images yet.😕 If anything, we're doing it specifically for the multimedia aspect, and the soccer subforum is even getting its own IMG code...
If someone actually had a problem with it, they should just use links first, but since nobody cares, we're using the img tag.

So, I went ahead and downloaded the latest version of that Player, and now I'm stuck with this MOV file that just won't cooperate... It plays fine in Winamp, but there's absolutely no video, just nothing. Does anyone have a clue why this is happening?

Just grab VLC Media Player or QuickTime alternative 1.66

Not everyone has a hundred MOV files lying around; they usually just have one. Download QuickTime player and the problem should be solved.
