Jonathan Harris74 said:I actually just booked an appointment with Dr. Pavic! A friend of mine was doing this therapy and managed to fix a -10 prescription! I have no idea if he was just pulling my leg, though! I'm heading in late August—I'm currently at -5 with astigmatism—so we'll see! They told me that after just a month of exercises, my vision should be right on the edge of normal!

Wish me luck!

👍

I'll definitely let you guys know how it goes!

I'm really curious to see if those exercises actually work.

Does $1167still believe in them?

That's what an agent told me over the phone about a year ago.
I actually called to set up an appointment for my daughter, but we just couldn't seem to nail down a time that worked!

So, I finally made the call today and booked a Saturday at the end of August! The first session kicks off at 11 AM and apparently runs all the way until 5 PM. The real kicker? They told me I can't wear glasses OR contacts during the treatment. That means no corrective lenses for an entire month until I’m fully cleared! 😢 🙂

Like I mentioned before, my prescription is around -5 and my eyes are pretty different from one side to the other, but they promised everything would be fixed within a month. It’s kind of a drag since my job involves staring at a computer screen all day, but hey, I guess I'll just have to find a way to make it work!

Jonathan Harris74 said:The worst part is you aren't allowed to wear glasses or contacts during the treatment. So basically, you're stuck without any vision correction for an entire month until you're fully healed! 😢 🙂

Hold on just a second.... My prescription is nearly -11.00. If I actually decided to go through with this therapy, how on earth could I possibly manage even a single day without glasses or contacts!?!?!??!🙄 😲 😲 😲
Are you absolutely sure that nothing can be worn during that period!?!??
I literally see NOTHING without one of those two things... What kind of joke is this????😲 😲 😲 👎

I mean, I literally see NOTHING without one of those two things... What kind of trick is this????😲 😲 😲 👎

Look, listen, this only applies to certain specific cases, like eye exercises, because most people end up just getting the actual surgery😉
especially when we're talking about really high prescriptions...

Linda Roberts3 said:I honestly can't see a thing without one of those two options... What's the catch here?😲 😲 😲 👎

Look, if you wear contacts but still want glasses on hand, you need an actual prescription for them too. If I recall correctly, you aren't supposed to wear anything for a few days before your eye exam...

So this isn't even that weird..

Surgery is absolutely out of the question for me. It feels way too risky, especially since I’d probably need it done on both eyes. I did consider seeing that specialist, but if the catch is that I can't wear glasses or contact lenses during the entire treatment period, then I'm out. Seriously, with my prescription, I can barely see anything at all—how am I supposed to actually function, go to class, or live my life if I'm basically blind without my correction!??!
Ugh... I guess I'm a lost cause...

All these exercises work on a similar principle to how you build muscle in the gym.🙂The difference is that if you stay consistent, you’ll actually see visible mass gains in basically every muscle group within about three months.
I honestly don't know a single person who successfully lowered their prescription through sheer discipline, and I'd be genuinely curious to hear from Jonathan Harris74—did you stick with it long enough to see results? 🙂

On another note, I just had to vent about the quality of these Focus dailies. They are absolutely terrible. My eye doctor talked me into trying them this time just to see what the hype was about, but my vision isn't even clear. It feels blurry, and they barely last a single day before they start irritating my eyes. Plus, if you happen to stay up late wearing them, they actually stick to your eyeball. 😢

They don't compare to Acuvue at all, which are fantastic. Even though those are daily lenses, you can comfortably wear them for two or three days straight without any issues.
I have no idea why they push Focus dailies so hard in advertisements; based on my experience, the quality is just subpar.

Look, I’ll give you guys an update when I can, but that won't be until late August at the earliest! Honestly, I have no clue how I’m going to survive without my glasses—I’m basically blind without them, and I actually have to show up to work! Luckily, I’ve got my laptop, so I can manage, but I have to practically press my face ten centimeters from the screen just to make out anything. I’ve got my heart set on getting this sorted, so we'll see what happens!

As for contacts, hard lenses were always the winner for me! Sure, there was a bit of a learning curve getting used to them, but once I settled in? Zero issues. Plus, they actually helped stop my prescription from getting worse.

P.S.

Wish me luck! 😬

How long did it actually take you guys to get used to wearing contacts? I really should be using GP lenses because my prescription is super specific and soft lenses just don't work for me. Honestly, I’m dreading that awkward adjustment phase; I already had to quit twice after just a few days because things got insane with my college course load. So, I’m gearing up for attempt number three this Monday.
Also, is there any real difference between contact lens solutions? I’m currently using Bausch & Lomb—or whatever the name is—and I have two different bottles, one for cleaning and one for storage.

What kind are you wearing?

With semi-hard lenses, you have to ease into it by adding an extra hour of wear time every day... start with one hour, then two the next day. Then three... and I think eventually you hit about 8 hours. After that, you can wear them normally. 🙂

I went through the exact same thing, but after just a few days, my vision got incredibly blurry. I’ve been trying to manage it with medication, but honestly, it hasn't really helped much at all.

It took me about 10 days before I could even walk around my house comfortably and get my eye used to having something sitting on it. On day one, I could only handle 20 minutes, then maybe 30 the next, just pushing it as far as I could. But honestly, it took a full month before I felt okay wearing them to work, driving, and all that stuff.

Even now, like 3 or 4 years later, I still get those moments where things suddenly double, blur, or my eye feels weirdly "dry," which can be super annoying or distracting. Most of the time though, you totally forget they're even there. I’ve definitely tried to rub my eye before, completely forgetting I had lenses in.

I'm using Johnson & Johnson, but I don't really know what your experiences have been with them. If any other brand could actually make these semi-rigid lenses feel more comfortable, I'm all ears for your advice. And yeah, same thing here... whenever I take them out of that slimy solution and try to pop them straight in, everything is blurry and they feel heavy. But if I rinse them out and hit them with a drop of artificial tears before putting them in, everything turns out great and crystal clear.
