I just got a Pilates ball as a gift. Does anyone else have one? What kind of exercises can I do with it?

Look, I can only really offer you two things here... either a book or a Pilates instructor. Personally, I follow a book for my workouts and honestly, it works wonders. Sure, hitting up a local studio in person would probably be the ideal move, but... I'm pretty sure you could find a decent "Pilates with the Stability Ball" guide at any Barnes & Noble

If nothing else, it’s actually a pretty great seat... kind of makes a regular chair feel unnecessary. 😉

Thanks, I appreciate it

I'm sitting on it right now—definitely more fun than a standard chair😁

I'll definitely borrow that book. I was actually hoping someone had posted some exercises online. I did a bit of searching myself, but couldn't find anything worthwhile

The Pilates DVD is hitting stores tonight, so you should definitely grab one! I guess I'm just really hoping they included those exercises using the stability ball inside.

Well, I had this whole idea in my head that it was actually launching today, but apparently, everyone is saying otherwise! Honestly, I think I might have been daydreaming instead of paying close attention when that commercial came on 😢

So when does it actually drop... I'm guessing Thursday? Since last Thursday was that DVD on healthy eating, right?

Well, they announced on the radio that it's airing tonight alongside the evening news.

How much weight can it actually take? I'm sitting at around 260 pounds—can I jump on it without breaking anything?

Give it a test sit. If it snaps, then it’s clearly not built for you.🙂

But seriously, I'm not joking. I'm right around 150.

I was using it tonight while watching the news. My wife picked it up at Target.

So you guys seriously didn't mention this was the entire wellness collection! I barely managed to track down this one Pilates DVD at the local Target, only to look at the back and realize it’s just a teaser for the rest of the series; massage, Tai Chi... blah blah blah. Like, why wasn't this mentioned? 😲

My ball is rated for up to 660 lbs, so you should be totally fine to do whatever you want with it. Even if it does eventually give out, it won't just pop suddenly—it’ll more likely just start losing air slowly...

Omg, please check if it says the massage DVD is coming out soon!

I might actually pull the trigger and grab a ball in about five months once the extra cash hits my account 🙄 😁

But honestly, how does one even go about picking the right one? Is it based on the height or the weight 🤔 😁

Mine didn't list any weight limits or load capacities. Apparently, there’s some kind of chart based on height. I’m about 5'9", and a physical therapist suggested a 26-inch ball would work for me, though he did tell me to sit on it first to test it out (your legs should be at roughly a 90-degree angle when you're seated). My sister is about 5'5" and she was given the exact same advice: go with the 26-inch one.

You can probably grab one at a Walmart or Target, but honestly, they might be total junk. Does anyone know where to find a cheaper option that isn't garbage? And what’s the actual deal with the price jump between the cheap ones and the high-end stuff you see at specialty fitness shops? Is there even a difference?
