So, I’m staring at myself in the mirror this morning and honestly, I look like 😲 someone three sizes larger than my actual self, just completely swollen from head to toe.

I’m squinting through these puffy, swollen eyelids—my face looks like I went five rounds with a swarm of angry hornets, I can barely even make a fist, and I’m pretty sure I need to go out and buy shoes that are a size bigger just to function...

And the thing is, this isn't some one-time freak occurrence; it happens all the time, whether I’ve underslept or overslept, it’s just my standard morning routine at this point.
It takes me a good few hours just to feel somewhat human again.

My blood work came back fine, my kidneys are doing their job just fine too...

Is anyone else dealing with this kind of nonsense?👋

From head to toe?😲 How often are we talking here?

For the last few years, I’ve dealt with this every winter. There’s always a two-to-three-week stretch where my fingers swell up overnight. It isn't all of them, just a select few 😬.
They usually settle down after a few hours, but they can be quite painful.
I have poor circulation—that's my explanation for it—and sudden shifts in temperature tend to aggravate the situation.

Every single day, apparently.😕

I’m squinting through these puffy, bruised-looking eyelids, my face looks like I went five rounds with a swarm of angry hornets, I can barely even make a fist, and my shoes don't even fit anymore...

And the thing is, it happens constantly. Whether I get too little sleep or way too much, it’s always there waiting for me in the morning.
It takes me a few hours just to feel somewhat human again.

My blood work is fine, kidney function is perfect... everything checks out on paper.

Is anyone else dealing with this kind of thing?👋

Oh, you’re just so "interesting,"😬
does this happen all year round, then? Every single day?

Actually, yeah!

Sometimes it’s dialed back a bit, sometimes it’s cranked up to eleven, but it’s always there, lurking in the background.

How much plain water are you actually getting down every day?

If you can manage to knock back about three liters daily, most of these issues tend to just fade away on their own over time... 😉

Just hit three liters daily and the problem will eventually clear up on its own.. 😉

Or is it just going to get even bigger?

Brandon Booth6, do you consume milk or dairy products, and did you eat a lot of them growing up?

It’s possible that some kind of buildup—maybe even a localized fatty deposit—is settling right under your skin😁

Have you considered whether you might be dealing with an allergy to something?

I mean, seriously, what’s the deal with milk? 😕

So, I’m looking for some insight here—does anyone have experience dealing with this? It’s like every single morning I wake up and my eyelids are puffy, my under-eyes are swollen, and my hands and feet feel like they’ve ballooned up too. It doesn't matter what I ate the night before or when I finally crashed for the night... it just happens. Always. Sometimes it’s a little more intense, sometimes it’s a bit milder, but it's a constant 🤷... basically, if anyone has gone through this or has any theories, please weigh in. I’d really appreciate it

Does the swelling go down during the day?

It might be a good idea to get your kidneys checked out. 🤷

It wouldn't be a bad idea to get tested for Lyme disease.

Yeah, it usually ends up splashing all over during the day

Just like > mentioned earlier, you should definitely get your kidney function checked out and run some tests for Lyme disease.
That swelling you’re describing sounds like your body might be struggling with some fluid retention, almost like a sponge that's just soaked up way too much water.

And regarding Lyme disease, if you could maybe walk me through some more details... I know it’s linked to those nasty ticks, and honestly, I’m already dealing with enough since I fought my way through meningitis about two years back.

Look, stop guessing. Get in touch with your primary care physician immediately and get a full metabolic panel done. Once those blood results are in, we'll actually have something real to work with.

😕I find myself grappling with similar swelling issues, though mine always manifests in my face. It’s quite a spectacle; perhaps once a week I’ll wake up looking as if I’ve spent the entire night being pummeled by a swarm of angry hornets in downtown Chicago.🙄

Occasionally, the swelling migrates to my hands and feet as well.

Seriously, go see your doctor and get a full blood panel done.

What exactly does that screening cover? Is it just blood and urine tests, or am I looking at something more extensive? And realistically, can I knock this all out in a single day? I’m moving across town in about a week and things are already getting chaotic.

Yeah, you can knock it all out in one day. They'll run a CBC, CRP, AST, ALT, GGT, urinalysis, creatinine, urea, urate, CK, LDH, electrolytes like potassium and sodium, plus urinary proteins.
(For the CK and LDH specifically, I'm pretty sure they handle those over at the local hospital lab.)
