Melissa Cruz2 said:I seriously hope I never have to go through that—if it happened to me, I’d be writing letters to the hospital director, the Secretary of Health, and every major news outlet in the state.

Look, I actually sat down with the department head to talk about it... and he basically told me he doesn't doubt my colleague's professionalism one bit. He even suggested I "think twice" about pursuing this since I don't have any hard evidence. And honestly? That's the kicker. It was just the two of us in the office... how am I supposed to prove what actually went down? I ended up filing a formal grievance later, but deep down, I knew it wouldn't go anywhere. When the guy is protected by the hospital hierarchy and you've got nothing but your word... it's a losing game.

I mean, the boss really crossed a line there with how he reacted... honestly, there’s a higher power watching all this stuff happen.

Anyway urbanseal6, a gastroscopy actually lets them see everything clearly, so it's really not that bad to just get it over with. I’m going full masochist on this one because I figure a little discomfort is worth it, but at my age, you can't be too careful about getting these things checked out... 😁

I know what you mean, Melissa Cruz2, even my doctor told me the exact same thing. 😉
It’s true, it’s easily the most uncomfortable procedure out there—compared to just getting blood work or an ultrasound—but it’s also by far the most effective.
I spent a long time hesitating and overthinking it, but I finally decided to just bite the bullet and GO, because at least that way I’ll have some actual answers and hopefully put an end to this constant daily pain.
It isn't being a masochist 😉 , it’s just taking care of yourself instead of putting off the important stuff! 👋

Just wanted to share this for anyone interested:
I gave a local clinic a call today to ask about their pricing for a gastroscopy, and honestly, the cost is just eye-watering 😂 $370!

So, an internal option just opened up within the Mayo Clinic... They’re actually performing gastroscopies and colonoscopies under anesthesia!!! Honestly, I went myself and it was such a breeze—you just head in, lie down, drift off to sleep, and then wake up in a cozy bed feeling absolutely nothing!!! It’s a total dream, plus the staff there are incredibly kind and professional... I was treated by Prof. Stimac, who is truly a wonderful man... If you want to check it out for yourself, take a look at their website here:

How much damage does anesthesia actually do to your longevity?
I've been hearing people claim that any kind of anesthesia effectively shaves a few years off your life expectancy.
Personally, I’d be perfectly fine opting for sedation—especially if it's just for something like a colonoscopy—but if there's any truth to those claims, maybe it's better to just grit my teeth and endure the discomfort instead. 🤷
