Mel is a legend—for me, his best work is still that first one, Gallipoli. Simply brilliant.🙏

If you look at his career and think he’s done nothing besides directing and starring in Braveheart, you couldn't be more wrong. He's accomplished so much more than that.

Even though he belongs to that older generation of actors, I honestly prefer him over all these supposed "rising stars" we see today.

When a girl who’s clearly supposed to be swooning over the young heartthrobs—guys like Josh, Orlando, or Elijah—instead finds herself captivated by the eyes and presence of an actor who's basically her father's age, then you know...

I consider Mel Gibson to be one of the top actors out there. 👍 👍 I’ve always been a huge fan—everything from Mad Max 1,2,3 to Lethal Weapon 1,2,3,4, plus Payback, Braveheart, Ransom, that one alien flick (it’s on the tip of my tongue, but I can't quite place it), and plenty of others. He was at the top of his game until he started making those odd projects like Passion; most people really missed the mark on that one, though he certainly made a fortune off those devout Catholics... 😎

I actually found myself weeping during that movie.
I just love watching Mel—he’s incredibly handsome, isn't he? Just wonderful.
He, along with Harrison Ford, Kevin Costner, and a few others... honestly, these modern actors could never compete with that level of style compared to guys like DiCaprio and the rest.
Apparently, while his wife was working, he would spend hours on the phone providing her with support from a completely different continent.
The man is truly a legend—though, I suppose I haven't followed all of his recent political commentary too closely, just so I don't ruin my own perception of him.

I think DiCaprio was actually great in Gangs of New York, but honestly, that might be the only role of his that really clicked for me—though that’s just my two cents.
Mel Gibson, along with Connery, is easily among the best out there; I mean, We Were Soldiers is probably one of the better Vietnam War films we've seen. As far as Catholicism goes, I suppose the faith itself isn't a bad thing if you stick to the core tenets of Jesus' teachings, but things tend to get messy when people try to force it on others through coercion.👋

Hmm, I think I’ll hold my tongue here; I have no desire to see this spiral into a debate that simply doesn't belong on this platform.
It’s possible he can be quite stubborn, but then again—given how he’s portrayed in the news—there are certain aspects of his character that I actually find quite compelling,
though, of course, it isn't as if I know the man personally, 😁

Mel Gibson is, without a shadow of a doubt, one of the finest actors and directors working today.
He’s easily in the top five. There isn't even a hint of a doubt about that. The only film of his that I found a bit lacking was Signs, though it’s still a solid watch. On the other hand, We Were Soldiers is an incredibly patriotic film, which somewhat spoils the mood for me.
I think the only Mel Gibson film I haven't seen is Passion. I have to admit, his more recent work is heavily loaded with patriotism; while that might be a turn-off for some people outside of America, the films themselves remain exceptionally good.

Mel Gibson is a talented actor, but as a human being, he’s a total moron. You can really see his fanaticism and sheer madness bleeding through his movies, which are mostly just bloody, fatalistic, and obsessed with revenge and similar crap. For me, he was at his best in the Lethal Weapon series; those are easily some of the best action flicks ever made because they nail that perfect balance of action and humor.
Look, if it were just about how he insulted Oksana and said all those things—honestly, I might have let it slide if she were just some gold-digger staging a scene—but the guy clearly hates Jews, insults them, and is completely obsessed with them. He even told a drunk Winona Ryder that she was "one of those who escaped the oven," which seriously destroys any shred of credibility he has left as a person.
You have to be a massive idiot to say stuff like that. If he were 15 or 20, sure, you could write it off as being a dumb kid, but being that much of an idiot in your late middle age? 🙏
Regardless, none of that—not even the fact that he's a lunatic, a sexist, an antisemite, and a woman-beater—changes the reality that he's a great actor. Acting is one thing, and real life is another entirely. We don't actually know the true character of any actor, so frankly, I don't see why Mel's personal business should concern me.

I’ve always had such a soft spot for his movies—think the Mad Max trilogy, the Lethal Weapon series, even Forever Young... they just stick with you. Honestly, who he is as a person doesn't really matter in this context. Though, I have to admit, I had no idea he was such a moron...

I’d say he’s an average actor with maybe a couple of great roles—part maniac, part idiot... but as a director in Apocalypse, he actually blew me away... even now, I can't wrap my head around how his 🤷

I've gotta say, I feel exactly the same way about him—I have so much respect for the guy. If you ask me, his absolute peak was definitely in Braveheart, and honestly, that performance is easily one of the greatest pieces of acting I've ever seen on screen. Don't you think?

Man, I am absolutely obsessed with the Mad Max trilogy and that whole Lethal Weapon series—they’re just such classics! And don't even get me started on Signs or Braveheart; honestly, those are all top-tier movies in my book. Can you even imagine a better lineup? Just pure gold.

Mad Max trilogy and Braveheart are probably my top two favorites of his. As an actor, he’s alright, and the same goes for his directing. As for the man himself... I guess we won't go there.

Honestly, I don't give a damn what kind of person an actor is in real life, and I don't even spend time thinking about it because, newsflash, I'm not exactly planning on grabbing a beer with them, right? So why should I care if they're a saint or a total jerk?

All that matters to me is whether I actually enjoy their work, how they handle their craft, and if they can put together some solid movies—the rest of their personal business doesn't mean anything to me whatsoever. 😁

If we're talking best of the best, Braveheart along with Mad Max 1 and 2 are definitely my top three picks of his.
