Oily hair, help!

Dear forum members, 👋

A dear friend of mine—honestly one of the kindest souls you’ll ever meet, though currently single (and looking to change that soon if anyone is interested... clearance sale! 😉 )—asked me to start this thread because he is far too embarrassed to bring his dilemma to light himself.

The issue: his hair gets greasy incredibly fast. 🙂
What he’s tried so far: a shampoo that actually works, but it smells like rose petals, which tends to attract quite a bit of male attention. 😲

Any advice you can offer would be more than welcome!! 🙏 🙏 🙏

P.S. In all seriousness, please share any experiences or tips you might have on how to tackle this particular problem...

Vichiev's shampoo is solid—and honestly, onion juice isn't half bad either.

I heard some talk about this at the Sephora counter.
Apparently, lemon oil does the trick.
Just add a few drops to your shampoo.

Good grief, does nobody actually read the opening post? We aren't talking about greasy female hair here; we're talking about a guy. To quote: "one of my dear and dearest friends, a total sweetheart," or I might add, "an incredibly smart and handsome guy any mother would be proud to have as a son or a boyfriend."
The real issue is this: there are dry shampoos and powders out there, but every single one I've come across smells like heavy hairspray. Is there actually anything unscented available, and if so, where can I find it? I'd really rather not get a haircut again... 🙂 🙂

Look, it’s a simple fact: the more often you wash your hair, the faster it gets greasy. It’s just how it works.

We wash our hands occasionally, brush our teeth at least twice a day, and shower once a day—so why is tracking hair cleanliness any different?🙄
All that dirt just builds up on your hair, and then by nighttime, you’re rubbing it all into your pillow... pure bliss...🙂 or even better, let your partner kiss you right on the head... just lovely...🙂 🙂

Washing your hair too often is definitely a bad move, especially if you're using harsh shampoos that just irritate your scalp and mess with its natural pH balance.

That said, if his hair is getting so greasy that he absolutely has to wash it every single day, he should at least stick to something mild—maybe even a baby shampoo, like Johnson & Johnson.

I haven't really noticed anything about my "natural skin pH" being thrown off, honestly. Also, does anyone actually know the numbers? Like, what’s the pH of the body versus the scalp?

And what happens if you *do* mess up the scalp pH? Does your hair just fall out in clumps? Or does it just get super oily, forcing you into this endless cycle of washing it every single day? 😲

Daily washing might have been an issue back in the day when people didn't have reliable running water or were stuck using those super alkaline, old-school soaps...

But nowadays? Not really a thing.
