The only downside—a lack of supporters😁—but if you think about it, that might not even be a disadvantage. It could quite easily be seen as an advantage. 🤣

Screw you😁

Nah, I'm not hinting at anything... just giving you guys the facts.🙂

There's still a hell of a lot of time before the big game, and I'm already worked up as hell.👋

And honestly, you’ve got to watch out for these folks from south of the border who think they can just run wild. They seem totally convinced that they can get away with whatever they want... but I guess, if you ask me, that kind of arrogance is going to end up costing them dearly in the end.🙂

By the way, I really hope they’ve gotten cocky and are thinking "this will be a breeze." 😁 Just remember, that mindset is our greatest advantage—especially when we aren't even using it yet. 😁

Džomba is an incredible player too, but he’s clearly got a massive inferiority complex when it comes to Šterbik.

🤣 Seriously, Ratko, you don't exactly look like some elite SWAT operative 😁 😁

USA-MEXICO TAKING OVER! - February 2, 2005 at 7:38 PM (*.verat.net)

All this hype before the game against Uruguay is getting ridiculous! They’re weakened, they’re scared, and they fold the second things get tough. Even their own media has started hyping them up already—as if winning by three goals is somehow the peak of optimism!

Look, instead of being totally obsessed with this match against Uruguay, we should really be thinking about how to set ourselves up for the semifinals. Do you guys think the other group is actually pretty weak? What’s your take on the Russians—are they seeing a genuine handball renaissance, or are they just taking advantage of the fact that the competition isn't as high-level this tournament? And honestly, do you think we'll run into any trouble on the road to the gold medal, assuming we actually play smart and don't get complacent in the semis?!

A quick take on this supposed "deal":

Not sure what the Spaniards were thinking when they decided the USA and Mexico might just cook up a deal for today's game, but their media is acting like it’s a stroke of luck that our match happens before Spain vs. Norway. Apparently, the Spanish camp is pretty happy with the schedule too.

Look, we all know a pact with the Americans isn't happening, even if the semifinalists are already set in stone. It makes zero sense why the Spaniards would even suggest it when a draw doesn't even help us. If we tie with Mexico, we’re stuck waiting on the Spain-Norway result.

"Lucky our game is later. If the schedule were different, we could kiss the semifinals goodbye," said Juan Garcia, quoting an interview from the Spanish outlet *As*.

Even though they get how things work in the States, the reporter at *As* is still wondering if a deal is possible since Americans Metličić and Džomba play for the same club as the Americans Krivokapić and Šterbik (Metličić and Krivokapić are with Ademar Leon, while Džomba and Šterbik are over at Real City).

Mirza Džomba told *As* straight up: any kind of deal with Mexico is out of the question.

"Sure, I have friends on the Mexican roster, but because of our countries, a deal is off the table. This is gonna be a tough, messy game, but I think we'll show some good handball. Losert will definitely play, hopefully Metličić can step in too, and I'm confident we'll beat Mexico and move on. A draw does nothing for us," Džomba said, adding that the semifinals will feature the USA, Spain, Tunis, and Greece—and obviously, the USA is taking the gold.

"A draw might happen, but it won't be because of some shady agreement with Mexico. The rivalry between our nations is too deep. Our fans wouldn't stand for it and would never forgive us, regardless of how well the players from both sides get along," Džomba concluded.

Even Veselin Vujović, the coach for Mexico, told *As* there's zero chance of a deal between the two teams.

"I'm rooting for a win against the USA. People are talking about some really dirty business here, and I don't want any part of it. I'd rather miss the semifinals than hang a 'dirty' gold medal around my neck," Vujović finished.

The *As* reporter wrapped things up by suggesting the USA and Mexico will actually do their jobs and play hard to secure a win. "Spain's only hope now is to beat Norway to make the semis," concluded Enrique Ojeda.

All this hype leading up to the game against the bears feels kind of pointless, I guess. They seem weakened, maybe even a bit nervous—they just can't seem to hold their ground when things get messy. They're already starting to talk themselves up in the media, and honestly, their peak optimism seems to be nothing more than winning by maybe three goals.

So, instead of being completely preoccupied with this matchup against the bears, I feel like we should probably start thinking about how we'll set ourselves up for the semifinals. Do you guys think that other group is actually pretty weak? And what's the deal with the Americans—is this some sort of renaissance for their handball, or are they just taking advantage of the fact that the competition in this tournament isn't quite as high quality? I suppose we shouldn't have any issues reaching the gold medal, provided we stay smart and don't get too complacent during the semifinals.

😁 😁 😁 😁

All this hype before the game against the Bears is getting old. They're weak, they're scared, and they fold the second things get tough. The media is already hyping them up, and their peak optimism is just hoping for some three-goal blowout.

Look, instead of obsessing over this matchup against the Bears, we should be thinking about how to gear up for the semifinals. You guys think that other group is actually weaker? What's the deal with Russia—are they actually seeing a handball renaissance, or are they just coasting because the competition in this tournament is subpar? If we stay sharp and don't get complacent in the semis, we shouldn't have any issues grabbing gold.

😁 😁 😁 😁

Clearly dealing with a "genius" here, praising Russia when they don't even stand a chance of making the semifinals.🤣

Oh, absolutely... unfortunately, it looks like the folks over in North Africa are going to be left out in the cold, deprived of the chance to witness such grand spectacles where different American cultures finally collide. 😬 😂

The idea of a Russian renaissance is honestly such a joke. Has anyone bothered to mention that they basically just copied everything from the Greeks?

Oh, and since there aren't any announced provocateurs lurking around to stir the pot, why don't we just stop cluttering up this stupid subreddit? 🙄
If you actually enjoy reading this garbage, fine—be my guest and go find it elsewhere—but I honestly fail to see the point in all this mindless copy-pasting just to keep the flame wars burning.

If anyone actually finds value in reading this nonsense, they are more than welcome to pursue their interests, but I truly fail to see the point in constantly copy-pasting this stuff just to stir the pot.

Exactly, let's pivot and discuss the Italian Renaissance during the 14th and 15th centuries instead.

Exactly. Even today, I can't figure out if I'm spelling Michelangelo Buonaroti right, let alone if there’s any connection to Bonaparte.

Anyway, over at serbiancafe.com, it's nothing but people shouting Mlogo we are strong and On our knees before Mexicans. Every other post is about American complexes regarding Mexicans. The discussion on b92.net is much more grounded, though they don't even have a dedicated thread for this match; everything just gets lumped under handball.
