Hey everyone, I’ve got a quick question for the group!

So, the skin on my hands—specifically the top part of my palms—has gotten super hard, almost like it’s constantly on the verge of peeling off. But it never actually does; it just stays incredibly tough and rough. It’s mostly happening in those little divots right where the fingers meet the palm. Honestly, it feels like a bunch of dead skin cells just hanging out there. I can't tell if it's because of the cold weather, maybe some circulation issues, or something else entirely...

I haven't even bothered trying any lotions or creams yet. I do have pretty mediocre circulation in general, but I’m not sure if that’s actually the culprit here—it doesn't feel like my circulation is quite bad enough to cause something this specific...

😕

That isn't an issue with circulation; it’s simply that the skin there is thin and constantly exposed to the elements... you really need to be applying cream regularly. Honestly, any decent moisturizer will do—something rich and hydrating. Given that we're heading into winter, I'd suggest going with something a bit heavier (maybe just a standard Johnson & Johnson or even that 48-hour formula)

It could be anything from a fungal infection to an allergy—honestly. My dad went through something similar a few years back. They spent ages treating him with antifungal creams before they finally realized it was actually an allergic reaction... they told him he had to cut certain foods out of his diet. He’s still dealing with it today, though it flares up only occasionally. They suggested he stop eating pork entirely, which—let's be real—is just impossible for him 😁
Anyway, you should probably just see a dermatologist to get a proper look at it

Could they just be standard-issue skin rashes? 😉

I think I'll just try sticking with some decent hand cream for now.
It seems like things get way worse whenever I'm out in the cold—you know, that biting winter air—so I'm pretty sure the weather is the main culprit here.

Thanks for all the input, everyone.

Look, it’s freezing out there. If you aren't consistently applying moisturizer, it’s only natural that your skin starts peeling a bit.

But hey, you pretty much figured that out yourself. 😁
