My very first instinct was to think, "Good grief, they are actually exploiting someone with a mental disability just to boost their own profile"...but, if I take a moment to really reflect on itβ€”Bore actually fulfilled his childhood dream...one way or another...can you truly ask for anything more than that?

That being said, the movie IS far too long...that scene involving the monster from the swamp is completely superfluous...and once the plot moves toward the prophetβ€”good heavens, it just drags on forever...

True...it’s a bit of a slog...though it’s not even about the runtime, it’s more about those individual scenes that just kill the pacing...
...for me, the fight with Karakondzula is the best part 🀣....

After the initial warm reception to the phenomenon of Lee - Cuvaj, the first wave of critics has arrived. It isn't really an attack on the concept of the film series itselfβ€”everyone understands this is just harmless, unpretentious trashβ€”but rather, the haters are targeting the crew and the audience, claiming they are essentially mocking someone with a disability. They argue everything was fine when Lee was just filming things solo or with friends, but now that more people have stepped in as producers, writers, and actors (like last year's "In the Clutches of a Metropolis" and now "Watch Out for the Sinj Hand"), it's suddenly "wrong" because, supposedly, "people are helping a fool act even more foolish." Still, anyone who has followed Lee’s rise and actually watched his work can see that these are just the bitter voices of Malice and fake moralism β„’ that pop up so often in this land of tears. Lee - Cuvaj remains the boss and the star of his own circus; he's being underestimated by those who think he doesn't realize people are laughing at his naive, child-like sincerity. He's weighed the pros and cons and figured out what makes him happy. Maybe he isn't perfectly sane, but he wasn't born yesterday either. Growing up in a small town like Sinj, marked from birth as different and living through poverty, yet remaining positive, humble, and artistically inclined is a rare feat. This time, it's Leeβ€”a man who Lars von Trier could (maybe should!?) make a musical about. A man who sticks to his principles, the Jesus of kung fu religion; he might not save us, but he shines like a flicker of true goodness that somehow survived, holding onto ideals many of us lost to conformity and resignation. We were all once Lee, but unlike him, we "grew up," changed, and became certain only when it comes to judging those who haven't. Now that Lee - Cuvaj has achieved his dreams, the question remains: who is actually the one with the handicap?

I mean, honestly, he’s just rolling through life 😁

And I suppose I wish him nothing but the best, though I truly believe he earned 😁

To me, much like many others, Lee - Cuvaj is a walking joke. But if he truly finds joy in filmmaking and has the opportunity to pursue it, then I suppose he should be happy about it.

Exactly. The guy makes people laugh and he gets a kick out of it. Who's anyone to strip that joy away from him just because people think they're "making fun of him"?

I actually shook his hand at a premiere in Los Angeles once... he had this specific smile on his face that really showed how much it meant to him to be recognized by the crowd..

Say whatever you want, but the man has lived out his dreams exactly as he envisioned them..

On a side note, there’s a scene in the movie that really stuck with meβ€”the one in the club where a guy tries to push drugs on him and he shuts it down. This guy offers him a "candy," and Borat just goes: "I'll take the candy.." πŸ˜‚

The man is a legend..

Here’s a link that immediately reminded me of this:
Karakondzula!

Let Borat tear her apart, honestly.

Then they mix it into water to help the sick recover. Epilepsy patients are supposedly cured by sitting near burnt bat wings and wearing snake skin, all while eating a meal made from her heart.
...
sounds great 🀣

So I finally sat down and watched this movie the other day. Honestly, it’s an absolute masterpiece of American cinema. I don't think I stopped laughing from start to finish. It’s actually way funnier than Borat! Here are a few highlights you just have to see:
The whole dialogue with Ε‘aman Ε ore πŸ˜‚ meeting Karakondzula, that gang of paraplegics, and the geo-leopard πŸ˜‚

that scene with the Russian kurva:

Bore: "Wait, you speak Russian!?"
Kurva: "I'm from Moscow"
Bore: "How long did it take you to learn it?"
πŸ™

Ahhh, I'm still reeling... btw, sorry for digging up such an old thread, but I just had to drop a quick review. This movie totally deserves it πŸ™ πŸ™
