So, it’s kind of like this... I have this ongoing issue with having rather thick fingers. It seems like everyone else in my family has much more slender hands, and I can't help but wonder if there might be some sort of method out there to slim them down just a little bit without having to go through with surgery. I suppose it would be helpful if anyone knew of any options. Thanks so much.

But honestly... the real dealbreaker is whether we're talking about toe or finger digits here😁?

I can't tell if you're just messing with me?

We’re talking about manual processes here, and I suppose one could say there's a rather significant dream involved in this whole endeavor. I am purely curious, though, as to whether it might actually be feasible

Just try mashing all the keys on your keyboard at once. Maybe that’ll kickstart it.😁

You basically asked the question and answered it yourself!

Genetics is just a roll of the dice from your parents. Look, if you were born with three fingers, then maybe surgery would be
justified. But in this case, what can you do? As long as everything else is fine, it's okay.
I'm pretty sure your fingers do their job just fine.

I often see kids wanting to extend their leg bones through procedures—can you imagine the pain and how much time that takes?

Next time, try picking parents with long fingers. 😁

A little consolation for those of us with thick fingers!

🙂 😉 😎

I wasn't actually planning on taking any action or anything, I suppose; I was merely curious if such a thing was even possible. P.S. I have been typing away at this keyboard all day long, though for some reason, nothing seems to be working properly 👋 thanks, regardless

I have this buddy of mine who’s got these incredibly thick fingers.

But then again, he also happens to be packing some seriously massive junk.

So, I can't help but wonder if there's some sort of direct causal link at play here.

Though, honestly, I couldn't be more certain...

He also happens to be exceptionally well-endowed.

So, I can't help but wonder if there's some kind of causal link there.

Though, I'm certainly not an expert...

Plus, if his fingers are long and thick too, he's definitely winning at life!👋 😁

It’s not going to happen without surgery. Since there isn't much muscle mass in the fingers to begin with, there's no way to slim them down through exercise. It’s just how you're built genetically, and you have to deal with that reality.

Just grab some Tiger Balm and give yourself a good massage every night before hitting the hay. 👍

Brachydactyly follows an autosomal dominant inheritance pattern—which explains why it seems to run through the whole family tree like clockwork.

I honestly don't see the point in getting surgery... though, if you'll indulge a quick little tangent of mine:

Since I play guitar, and my hands are pretty much just... average, I used to get a bit worked up whenever I saw someone like Steve Vai, who’s basically got limbs for fingers. I’d always tell myself that the only reason he sounds like a god while I sound like a beginner is because he’s blessed with those long, spindly digits... and then... I heard Django Reinhardt. You know, the guy whose hand was essentially ruined in a fire and ended up with very limited mobility, yet he managed to play absolutely brilliantly using just two fingers and a thumb.

So... yeah. That’s my take on it.

P.S. And let's be real, your kids will probably end up with similar physical quirks too.

Well, aren't those some comforting assumptions you're making... 🤣 🤣 🤣

I’ve always just had thick fingers, but lately, it feels like it’s more than just my natural build; it’s as if they’re constantly swollen, like there's fluid trapped under the skin... except for my thumb, every single finger feels this way, and honestly, my pinky is the absolute worst of the bunch. I find myself wondering if there is actually any way at all to slim them down, because it's starting to get to me... I'm beginning to feel genuinely repulsed by how they look...
