Are there any pills out there that actually act as appetite suppressants—you know, stuff that hits the brain directly instead of just trying to crank up my metabolism?

thanks 🙂

yeah

plus, some antidepressants come with these side effects
(only take 'em if you actually need them, not just to dodge the side effects)

Lately—for about three weeks now—I’ve been dealing with this relentless urge to eat, even though my stomach feels heavy and stuffed from everything I'm shoving into it. I just need to be snacking constantly. (And no, it isn't PMS; this happens right in the middle of my cycle.) My mom thinks it’s just a seasonal thing because autumn is rolling in. It’s driving me insane.

But, for some reason, the scale says I haven't actually gained any weight—even though I feel like I have.

I tried taking Zoloft once a while back—an antidepressant that's supposed to help with anxiety too. For a few days, I honestly couldn't eat a thing. Food just had zero appeal. But it didn't last long. After four or five days, my appetite just snapped back to normal. I ended up quitting the Zoloft pretty quickly anyway because I couldn't deal with the other side effects.

I remember hearing through the grapevine that some of those meds exist, but apparently they can trigger sciatica or something, leaving you totally sidelined from work for days on end, so I was wondering if anyone actually knows the deal with that.😉

Look, man—believe me, I’d much rather be at the office than dealing with this kind of pain!

Reductil helps curb cravings, though I’m not entirely sure if it actually revs up your metabolism.
I know plenty of people who use Paxil (an antidepressant) just to suppress their appetite, which supposedly works. Personally, I think those folks have lost their grip on common sense—using a heavy-duty psychiatric med just to drop a few pounds feels pretty extreme to me.👎
A buddy of mine from work managed to shed a massive amount of weight using Reductil (under strict doctor supervision)—we're talking at least 30 pounds!

Weed 😁 - if you're actually looking to put on some weight

Otherwise - prepare for a massive reality check

Otherwise—you're looking at a serious shock to the system

You're coming at me with advice about ganja?! 😛

The opposite—candy, ecstasy, pills, whatever... basically MDMA, but that ain't good 🙂
