It’s just your run-of-the-mill, standard movie—a decent enough comedy, I guess, but calling it anything more than that
seems like a massive stretch to me.

I found that whole situation with the Middle East pretty amusing, mostly because if they hadn't actually accomplished anything at all, it wouldn't have been funny; my only real gripe was seeing how easily they handed everything over just for a few cents, but otherwise, everything else—like the look of Prague, New York City, and all that—was fine. 👍
My favorite part, though, was watching that song catch on across the entire European Union (Scott doesn't know...)

Lucy Lawless playing some kind of S&M madam? 🤣

Come on, people—the movie is a total joke. That's why I find it so funny that some folks are actually getting worked up about it being "unrealistic." 😂

Like, honestly, that’s the whole point.

Yeah—I guess I find myself getting pretty worn down by comments like that too—it really is exhausting. 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣

I watched about half of it, but honestly, it was a complete waste of my time. 😬

The movie is just plain funny... nothing more than your standard, run-of-the-mill American comedy.
I actually quite enjoyed it myself.
Now that you guys have mentioned it, I might just have to go back and give it another watch.

Absolutely hilarious... Honestly, one of my favorite comedies—if not quite *the* best (though Great Adventure is still my all-time number one; I used to be obsessed with that movie when I was a kid)...

That scene where little Hitler goes, "I want, Daddy..."—it’s just too much for me.😬
Or like when that waiter gets handed five cents and declares, "I'm opening my own hotel..."

The movie is actually pretty good; it’s got some great jokes. I guess you shouldn't go looking for any deep meaning in it, though.

What was that drink they were serving at that club that’s actually banned here in the States?

The truly wild part is how she ends up arguing with an elf, acting like it’s some massive tragedy when, honestly, he doesn't even feel anything different about it 🙂

I honestly thought the movie was too ridiculous to even sit through, until that scene with the Italian guy on the train popped up 🙂 "scuse, scuse"

Absinthe isn't actually banned here in the States, nor is it prohibited in most parts of the world; in fact, several countries within the European Union didn't even re-legalize it until sometime in the mid-90s.

Raymond Booth said:I watched this ages ago—I know I liked it, but I also ended up reacting just like most people on this forum... they definitely went a bit overboard with the mockery of the Midwest...
it’s got some solid jokes though, so it’s easy to laugh at if you’re a total prep

Making fun of the Middle East?!

Look, it's been forever since I saw this movie, but if I remember right, they don't even mention the Middle East; it’s the Czech Republic and Prague they talk about.
It's a decent little comedy, I guess, but the thing that stuck with me most was that hot girl—(I can't for the life of me remember her name, the one in that scene where she gets drunk and starts acting crazy with her biological brother).

That looks just like Dawn from Buffy 😬 (Michelle Trachtenberg, if I recall correctly)

Honestly, you can't beat the chaos in New York City. I remember this one guy who got absolutely wrecked at a red-light district brothel and started shouting total nonsense, which just triggered this memory of some ridiculous little monkey with tiny little bowls sitting in a corner, just going wild and banging those bowls around right after the guy got hit with a massive dildo up the ass

So, I don't think this was even the main topic, and honestly, the movie isn't exactly breaking news anymore, but I finally sat down to watch it the other day and oh my god... I am absolutely obsessed!!!! 🙂 Like, seriously, I’ve already downloaded a bunch of songs from the soundtrack to my phone and I find myself needing to rewatch certain scenes every single day... I could probably sit through this thing another hundred times and still be totally fine.

There are some killer scenes and moments that actually made me laugh, even if the ending felt incredibly cheap and just kind of fell flat... plus, most of the stuff happening in Rome (aside from that whole confession booth bit) felt way too over the top for my taste.
But looking at the big picture, the movie is just fantastic! Seriously, wow! 😁
What do you guys think?

I honestly think this movie is great, easily one of the best of those teen comedies out there... I really dug Vinnie Jones playing the leader of the hooligans, too. And that song Scotty Doesn't Know is such a banger. As for the whole thing poking fun at Eastern Europe, I don't think we have much room to complain... I mean, how do we usually picture Americans? Probably just as a bunch of clueless buffoons who spend all day stuffing their faces with burgers and staring at the TV. That’s basically how they see us, right? At the end of the day, it's a parody, so obviously things get exaggerated... personally, I didn't feel insulted at all, if anything, that was actually my favorite part of the whole film...
