Only this time, they actually made it out alive.

Two American divers have told How They survived nearly six Hours in shark-infested Waters OFF The East coast of the US.

Louis Woodger and Gordon Pratley were out on vacation scuba diving when a massive current dragged them six miles away from their tour boat.

When the pair finally broke the surface, the boat was nothing more than a tiny speck on the horizon.

They were stuck treading water, staring down at huge sharks circling right underneath them.

"We thought it was all over," Mr Pratley Said, 31, told The New York Post. "My girlfriend saw a shark circling, so we just held hands and hoped for the best.

"We decided not to look down and prayed that rescue would come in time."

The whole nightmare was a carbon copy of the 2003 movie Open Water in which Two scuba divers are left in shark-infested Waters after their tour boat vanishes.

"We saw the film Open Water and IT was Just as scary as that," Mr Pratley Said.

Rescue teams noted the couple was incredibly lucky to avoid becoming shark bait.

"The area where they were stranded is famous for big, man-eating tiger sharks," coastguard captain Ken McClean said.

The couple , from Bury St Edmonds was treated for hypothermia and exhaustion once they were pulled to safety.

Caught the premiere this weekend, Open Water 2..

Even though it was a total snooze-fest, I had to see how it ended..
And honestly, maybe just to see which actor gets peed on

Does it actually happen in real life? Are there yachts out there that are basically impossible to climb back onto?

Man, it’s been a minute since a movie actually shook me like this. The sheer desperation of that young couple was just gut-wrenching, and honestly? It felt so incredibly real, even if it wasn't based on a true story. The way they handled the psychology of the relationship—the constant bickering, the finger-pointing, then those moments of making up, and that ending... man, what an ending! Huge thumbs up from me!
I’m actually kind of hesitant to watch the sequel now because I don't want to ruin the vibe I just got from this one. Apparently, they filmed the second part before the first one and just changed the title and slapped "Part 2" on it later.

I just couldn't help myself—I had to go ahead and check out the sequel, and honestly? I wasn't disappointed at all! It’s a totally solid flick with a really gripping story. If you're into those intense survival movies, I'd definitely recommend grabbing both of them.

How does the movie end? I didn't quite catch the conclusion, which is frustrating after spending an hour and a half watching two people adrift in the ocean.

Basically, the guy dies—he bleeds out after a shark takes a chunk out of his leg—and then the girl just lets him go. In the distance, you see the sharks swarming over him and dragging him under. Realizing rescue isn't coming, she ditches her gear and sinks, essentially choosing an inevitable end just to join him as shark bait.

I honestly can't wrap my head around those idiots who left them behind. I mean, seriously—how do you not perform a head count before heading out? 🤦

Aside from that, the film was eerie, tense, and felt incredibly realistic. 👍 The lead actors were fantastic and really sold the performances. Those 80 minutes flew by for me.
