Unless, of course, that German guy was busy testing his brakes inside a tunnel, 😁

Under our US traffic safety laws, if you rear-end someone because they hit their brakes, YOU are the one at fault... simply because the law requires you to maintain enough following distance relative to your speed so that you can come to a reasonable stop without a collision...

How is it possible that you aren't familiar with basic road safety regulations, Blacky???
It really is quite baffling how they allow all sorts of people onto the public roads these days...

It's honestly surprising how some people end up behind the wheel...

True, but those Schumacher types are completely unpredictable. If you're cruising at 81 miles/h and then they suddenly slam on the brakesβ€”just stomping on them for no reasonβ€”you could be following perfectly and still not avoid a hit. In those cases, the law points the finger at whoever "endangered road safety."

Though, I must say, this particular point doesn't bother me all that much...

ONLY if you can actually prove it... if it was just the two of you in the vehicle, you're the one at fault, period...

but it hardly matters... the rules in Formula 1 are quite different...

Yeah, it's that classic excuse about a cat darting out into the road...
Well, you'd better prove there wasn't one...

It’s possible... though you'd probably need some high-level connections to pull it off, naturally.πŸ™‚

Well, why don't you go ahead and prove there wasn't one...

It’s certainly possible... though you might need a few favors pulled to make it happen, naturally. πŸ™‚

That is PRECISELY how it is. 😁
