And if I recall correctly, they only folded because they were bleeding money constantly and getting absolutely crushed by Bridgestone..

Nice try! But I don't buy it. 😁

Thanks, thanks... does that mean I get to move up to the senior instructors now? 😁

When I take a moment to step back and look at the whole picture... maybe a direct comparison isn't even feasible here. It seems Ferrari is the only top-tier team currently running on the hard compounds, while all their main rivals are sticking to the medium tires...

The way I see it, Ferrari has engineered their entire suspension system specifically to optimize those harder tires, whereas everyone else has built their setups around the mediums... and they're managing to pull that off with about a 90% performance overlap regardless of the compound. Now, if you try to bring Sauber or Minardi into this by looking at how they handle the hard tires, you aren't really getting a valid baseline for comparison. If we had a scenario where Williams and Ferrari were both on the hards while Renault and McLaren were on the mediums, then we’d have a balanced 2:2 comparison that actually makes sense. As it stands, we can't tell if the hard tires are truly superior or if the Ferrari car is just exceptionally good and making the tires look better than they are.

Honestly, I've managed to talk myself into a bit of a muddle now... I'm losing my own train of thought.
I think it's time for me to head to bed. 😁

Exactly.
