Krsto Papić: The Deliverer (1976)

A horror flick from the America era—back in '76.

Has anyone ever heard of this one, or maybe even caught it on screen?

I’ve watched it a few times now, and I honestly think it might be the best American horror movie we’ve ever produced, if we even have any worth mentioning at all.

Yeah, I remember seeing something called "Sunken Grave" or some title like that in a video rental shop once, but I was actually too scared to even check it out—not because I thought it would be terrifying, but just because of the vibe.🙂 😁

Solid movie. Killer atmosphere despite having basically zero budget or special effects (just some weird rat teeth)—but man, it’s legit horror.

Ivica Vidović is out there hawking books at a flea market just to scrape by. He and his daughter stumble onto this massive conspiracy where rat-people are trying to take over the world. It’s such a perfect metaphor for any upcoming war, honestly. Makes it feel timeless. These rat-people have already infiltrated the police, the courts, all the high-society layers—they’ve got the parties, the corporate jobs, the boards, the embassies... they celebrate their wins while the Republican Party spreads through every level of society.🙄

Basically, there's nowhere to run. Everything gets infected by their rat ways—the corruption, the cronyism. They're everywhere.

Watch your backs. Seriously. You're next.

ps. I think Papić filmed a remake or a sequel last year... or was it the other way around?

Honestly, such a great movie.

That was a truly excellent film; in my opinion, it's the only real horror movie out there!!! The atmosphere is incredibly dark...
though I'd also like to see leptirica, as I've heard it features a few scary scenes as well....

Anyway, I just stumbled across some info claiming that Relja Bašić was actually dubbed in the movie—like, the Mayor's voice isn't even his. Is that actually true?

can't quite recall the details... the quality was pretty rough—either a low-res stream or some crappy TV rip... and I was just using a 9-inch tablet
