Has anyone here actually tried using glycolic acid on their skin? I’ve heard it can be pretty effective for clearing up sunspots, fine lines, and minimizing pores, so I was wondering if anyone has firsthand experience with it

I went in hoping to clear up some freckles, but honestly, they look exactly the same as they did before I started. The esthetician hyped up this glycolic acid peel so much that I actually agreed to it, and looking back, I just feel like I threw my money down the drain...
Later on, I saw another well-known specialist who told me straight up that my skin tone was actually great and I didn't really need anything, but I still tried microdermabrasion just to see if it would work. Nope, no luck there either.
Now, I'm done wasting cash on these procedures and I've stopped buying all those glycolic acid creams since they clearly don't do a thing for me. At this point, I've just made peace with how my face looks...

Glycol treatments basically sand down the skin—in a good way—deep cleaning out all those dead cells and buildup so you end up looking tighter, fresher, and just more radiant.

It helps smooth out scars too; nothing magical, but it definitely makes the deeper ones look less obvious.

Don't go expecting miracles, and honestly, don't expect much either.

I wouldn't touch this during the summer, though—you can't be out in the California sun while the treatment is active.

Usually, you’ll do a set of ten sessions, popping in every second or third day.

Your face might get a little flushed, but that redness usually clears up pretty fast.

Thanks so much, ladies. I actually used a glycolic acid cream for a while and saw some great results, so I figured a full treatment might be worth a shot... but I guess it all really comes down to skin type. Anyway, thanks again!

If you find that the cream actually works for you, you might want to look into the professional treatments too... but honestly, one session just isn't enough. Usually, they start you off at a 30% strength, then bump it up to 40%, and just keep climbing until you hit 70%. I personally decided to stop at 50%... but yeah, the higher the percentage, the better the results. Yours will definitely be better than mine, though I can never seem to get my skin exactly where I want it 🙂
