I did! Everything came back totally fine with my hormones. They just want me to keep an eye on a few specific levels, but nothing to worry about.

Iron levels?
When your iron gets super, super low, you start getting those heart palpitations... I actually dealt with that for a few months 🙂

Taylor Swift said:To be honest, I’ve never dealt with this myself... but if you're feeling this anxious about what might be going on, the smartest move is to just see a doctor. An actual checkup will tell you way more than anyone on this forum ever could, and honestly, you'll just sleep better knowing for sure.
I actually went ahead and ran some tests, and everything came back totally normal. But that’s exactly what scares me—you can feel like you're doing everything right, but things still go sideways. And then comes the classic line: "It's probably just stress." Like, oh, so *everything* is just stress? Give me a break. I haven't touched a cigarette in three years, I watch my diet like a hawk, and I hit the gym twice a week. Plus, my two kids are absolute angels. On paper, I'm killing it... but still...

btw, using all caps on this forum is considered pretty rude—it makes it look like you're shouting at everyone... so please, turn off your caps lock 🙂
thanks

MY LAST TEST ACTUALLY SHOWED MY IRON WAS WAY TOO HIGH, NOT LOW. I HAVE NO CLUE WHAT THAT MEANS.

I honestly had no idea. Thanks for letting me know!

Most of the time, if I take a nap after work, I wake up after just a few minutes feeling like my blood is literally boiling in my veins. My heart starts racing—I can really feel it pounding—and I get this overwhelming sensation that I’m about to start shaking. Then, the second I actually move, it all settles down.
It only happens during those short little naps mid-day.
I had a checkup at the Mayo Clinic and everything came back fine. They told me years ago I had some tachycardia, but they said it was pretty standard, and then last year they told me everything was perfectly normal.
As for what triggers it? God only knows.

My hormone levels were always perfect on paper too, but I ended up dealing with what they call a benign nodule. Heart palpitations, arrhythmias, anxiety, my immune system just tanked... I felt absolutely terrible...

Whether you're monitoring them or not, there might have been a shift somewhere.
Besides, even if your hormone levels aren't actually off, having something on your thyroid can trigger symptoms regardless.
Have you had your heart checked out at the Mayo Clinic?
If everything else comes back fine, perhaps we're looking at some form of anxiety or panic.
Breathing exercises might help.
I deal with heart palpitations myself—likely due to my thyroid issues—so I find that even small relaxation techniques make a difference.

It could just as easily be psychological, too. I mean, honestly, I don't think there's a single person out there who hasn't dealt with their heart racing, that weird stinging sensation near the chest, or that feeling like you can't catch your breath...

So, how did you handle all that?

I had kidney surgery. They took out about a third of a lobe... I haven't touched any medication since. Ever since the procedure—which was maybe five years ago now—I've probably been on antibiotics twice or three times at most, and I think I've taken a couple of milligrams of Xanax once or twice. Honestly, I feel incredibly healthy compared to everyone else...

What kind of tests did you have done before they decided you needed surgery? For me, everything came back normal on my blood work, and it was an ultrasound that actually caught those cysts.

I’ve actually had this nodule for years... it just slowly started growing. It got to the point where it was super noticeable and honestly just felt like it was choking me. I was being pretty diligent about it, too—regular ultrasounds, keeping an eye on my hormone levels. I even went through with a scintigraphy and a biopsy. Once the doctors realized it was steadily increasing in size and decided there wasn't much point in dragging things out, they sent me straight to surgery...

I stayed on top of it with regular ultrasounds and hormone checks. I even had a nuclear medicine scan and a biopsy done. Once the doctors realized it wasn't stopping and didn't want to keep me in limbo, they recommended surgery.
When did you first go in to get checked out? Was it because you started feeling symptoms, or did you just notice a physical bump and wonder what was going on? I have a slight thickening on my neck that the doctors say is just a cyst. Is your cold nodule a cyst too, or is it something else entirely?😘

My doctor felt a tiny little knot when I was about 18... ended up having surgery for it quite a few years later...

Have you checked your magnesium levels lately? A deficiency can really mess with your heart... it often causes palpitations and arrhythmias. Honestly, my best guess is that it’s either a magnesium issue or maybe iron...

Douglas Morris2, nobody even asked you and you didn't reply, so I'll ask again:
did you go to the Mayo Clinic?
what did the results show?
