I’m dusting off this old thread because I deal with that same stinging sensation for hours after shaving almost every single time—my skin is just incredibly sensitive. I’ve leaned heavily on Ralon Sport in the past,
and I also tried that Nivea sensitive lotion everyone seems to rave about since it’s alcohol-free, which should theoretically prevent
that sudden, crazy burning feeling... except even that doesn't really do much for me; my skin still ends up feeling slightly irritated for quite a while afterward -.-
And no, it isn't because I'm shaving in the wrong direction or anything like that xD

The thing is, when I apply a decent amount of Ralon, it stings like crazy upfront, but once that initial burn passes, my skin actually feels fine. With the alcohol-free Nivea sensitive stuff, it’s like I didn't even put anything on at all, because I’ll still be
feeling that irritation for hours ☕so I find myself choosing the ones with alcohol, even if they do end up drying my skin out. Maybe a balm would work better; I think I tried one once upon a time.

I remember getting some specific cream as a birthday gift ages ago, and it was absolutely perfect—I’d apply it right after shaving and
there wouldn't be any stinging at all; it just completely calmed the irritation, like it vanished into thin air. Tonight, I actually had to resort to using some whiskey because I realized I was totally out of
lotion, so now I need to go grab some moisturizing cream plus a balm, and maybe find some Ralon Sport too, since it's the only thing I actually seem to trust, haha.

What are you guys using? Which ones actually work for you? 😉

Aloe Vera 👍

Lotion (think along the lines of Ralon, though I’ve personally used much pricier stuff) is... kind of an old-school relic used for disinfecting, but those lotions always irritated my skin even if they smelled great.

Nivea Sensitive is basically throwing money down the drain. If you're looking for a balm, you can grab an identical, generic version at Walmart for a third of the price.

But honestly, Aloe Vera is the gold standard for this—it disinfects and wipes out any irritation or redness instantly.

This is the one I use. If you feel like layering something underneath it from your current routine—by all means, go nuts and mix them up.

Thanks! As long as there's Luke Skywalker involved, I'm pretty sure it'll work wonders 👍 , so I'll definitely give it a shot. 😉
