My son deals with neurodermatitis, and since the day he was born, his skin has been incredibly dry, which just seems to trigger one issue after another
When he went in for testing at age six, they diagnosed him with a dust mite allergy
The doctors explained how those two are linked, noting that skin conditions and allergies frequently go hand in hand
That intense itching that comes with neurodermatitis is the real struggle here; all the creams we use are really just a temporary band-aid
They certainly aren't a permanent fix
Our dermatologist usually just recommends picking up something specific from the drugstore
And let me tell you, those specialized brands can be quite pricey—think along the lines of Cerave or La Roche-Posay
While those help a little bit, we often find ourselves sticking to more basic things like calendula ointment or even just Nivea body lotion
Now that he's 20, he’s heard that hypnosis might actually offer some relief
It’s just one of those stubborn, frustrating ailments where nothing seems to work perfectly
