Look, my take is that Mark Smith22 might be dealing with some mucosal swelling that's causing extra bleeding. But honestly, since her doctor just handed over a prescription without actually saying anything useful, it could be something else entirely. She really needs to circle back with more details if she wants us to give her any decent advice.
Anyway, back to the topic at hand.

Man, Irma is leading us down the wrong path again. 🙂

Look, Irma, it’s not my fault if the masses are stuck with their biases and skewed perspectives. I assume you’ve learned something by now, right? 🙂

There is nothing here I haven't already known. Aside from the fact that you are one thing, while desperately trying to be another...🙄 you're putting way too much effort into pretending to be someone you're not just so you can actually become them.🙂

Which version of myself I’m actually trying to sell you... I don't even know. 🙂

Do you think I'm some genius pretending to be a complete moron, or just a moron trying desperately to look like a genius? 🙂 Honestly, you guys have no idea how much I'm enjoying this little circus. 🙂

Casey Palmer5, sorry about that—she’s the one derailing the conversation again. Actually, she was the one who did it the first time, too. Just scrub anything from the thread that isn't related to women's health.

Come on, guys, it doesn't really matter who's at fault here, so let's not start bickering, okay?

Let's get back to the actual question: how do you all deal with dysmenorrhea, and what actually works for you? Personally, I just curl up in bed and stay totally motionless. If I even can, that is. I try to avoid meds if possible because they just end up making me nauseous...

Mark Smith22, how are you doing? Did you end up seeing the doctor? What was the verdict (if you're comfortable sharing, of course)?

Well, here I am again, facing the exact same issue

Everything had seemed to settle down for a while, and honestly, being a bit stubborn, I didn't see the need to head back to the doctor immediately

But then the symptoms resurfaced, and I ended up waiting nearly a month before finally making an appointment

So, I went in today

He started by performing a Pap smear
He gave me a full exam and told me everything looked fine
Then he did an ultrasound—he mentioned my left ovary looks slightly enlarged, but overall, nothing to worry about
The IUD is still in place
Technically, there shouldn't be any bleeding, yet here I am, still spotting😢

In the end, he decided it was best to just remove the IUD
He also prescribed some Dabrostin to help stop the bleeding
I have to give him a call in a week to let him know if the bleeding has stopped
And to get the official results from my Pap smear

Once my period passes, I'll need to head back to his office for a follow-up

And so, I’m still left wondering what is actually going on with me😢

Like, is that even possible?.......?????????? I have no clue what to do and I am honestly freaking out a little... please, if anyone knows, let me know!

It’s possible if you had unprotected sex since your last period ended.

You're digging up a thread from seven years ago. We've actually launched a dedicated women's health sub-forum since then. You can find specific threads like "Am I pregnant?" and "Menstruation" over there, so head to those if you have more questions. Locking this now.
