Who's taking the championship?

Who do you guys think is going to take home the championship title this year? I know we touched on this recently, but so much has shifted since that last thread. Also, while we're on the subject of Formula 1, who are you actually rooting for?

Personally, I’ve got my money on Michael Schumacher taking the title this season. Kimi Raikkonen is definitely a strong contender, but let's be real—Michael is the man, especially since he's driving for Ferrari. That said, I think Juan Pablo Montoya is a solid driver too; if he could just catch a bit of a lucky break, he’d be right up there fighting for the top spots.👍

Could you perhaps frame the question a bit more clearly?
When we talk about the champion, we mean the one who finishes on top by stacking up the most points. As things stand right now, that trophy will likely end up in the hands of either McLaren or Ferrari, simply because those two are currently sitting in the BEST cars on the grid.

As for the "best" driver... goodness me... well, everyone has their own subjective yardstick for greatness, doesn't anyone? But if you ask me, the true measure is whoever manages to hold their own in a mediocre car without losing their mind before the engine inevitably gives up on them... heavens, just thinking about it makes me weary...😛

I’m sticking to my guns on this one: I really think David Coulthard will take first place, followed by Rubens Barrichello in second, and Jacques Villeneuve could easily round out the podium in third! 🙂
