Caught Annette (2021) today. It’s been a minute since I last sat through a musical—the last one was Into The Woods (2014). Personally, I thought Annette was a great piece of work. It follows this successful comedian who crosses paths with a high-profile opera singer.
To be honest, the main draw for me was seeing Cate Blanchett and Adam Driver. I might have skipped it entirely if they weren't in the cast. Cate is just flawless, no matter what she does, but Adam... well, he seems to be trying out every single genre lately. He was solid in Annette, though.
Watching Annette felt like this beautiful musical journey. It's rated R, so expect it to cover pretty much everything.
